Sorry to bruise your ego, but not everyone wanted to work for Southwest, especially in the 1990's when I was new like you. I never applied but I'm sure I'd be a senior 737 Captain by now (30 years). The arrogance usually comes from the new and over exuberant. Those of us who have been around a long time know rough times can hit everyone. This pandemic proves no one is immune. Good luck with your juniority.
You sure would be a senior 737 captain at SWA after 30 years. Are you a senior captain at your establishment? To think that your establishment wouldn’t pursue business opportunities in a downturn to avoid coming off as “arrogant” is either naive, or just poor business acumen. |
This has become a very silly thread. Maybe even record breaking silly. It's like a Dr. Phil interview, in a Flying magazine, dealing with masculine femininity. Yeah, quite repulsive. It's time to drop a grenade on this one. Desperate times call for desperate measures....
Hey Whack, you're lucky we bought Airtran. It was a failing airline of misfits that would have never made it through the front door here. 😁 |
You guys are acting like clowns. First of all, this was very few pilots first choice prior to 2001 if for no other reason than it was PFT. Nobody hands over $8000 for a type rating if Delta is knocking on their door.
By sheer luck and the grace of the gods of aviation misfortune they did well. That's terrific. Their lucky gamble turned this into the place to be after 9/11 So here we are. It's not better than any of the other places that I've worked (other than I'm still employed for the moment). It's just another airline. So let's get off the high horse and stop the "my Dad can beat up your Dad" BS. Everybody is trying to make a living. There will be winners, and there will be losers. But no pilot will make a difference in which side you're on. This job is the ULTIMATE participation trophy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

You forgot the part where all of the wide-body pilots (as we affectionately called the 737 vs the “RJ/717”) were homosexuals.
