Yes, people were making assumptions about people who pick up trips over vacation. Agree to disagree. We have a contract, I work within the boundaries of that contract to benefit my family and me the best I see fit and I don’t make judgements about other union members doing the same. I might get frustrated when seniority causes something to not work out my way, but I don’t say it’s a garbage move, because that’s the system I signed up for. That is a true statement. If you bid a summer week, have the seniority to be awarded that summer week, but then show up at work....you have quite literally 'wasted' that week of vacation. You will be rewarded monetarily, but that week of vacation is gone forever.

No the 50% was the advertised summer week drop for the new vacation system we voted in. Nobody can block bid then. Limited to two vacation weeks at a time, so they were saying it would cause the summer weeks to fall down to 50% of the Captain list..

I’m just saying what was in the reporting point when we were voting for a vacation change. But this isn’t a vacation thread. |

Love it when guys tell other guys what they should do over their vacation weeks. I assume these are the same guys that text first year FOs and tell them how to bid on open time trips.
And yeah, I pulled in 165 this month and worked 9 days AND took a weeklong trip with my family. Why? Because I can. |

Well I mean I DO think that after vacation bidding the upgrades are going to go WAY senior to 2014 again and probably won’t get back to 2014 until summer 2023…and then only ETOPS bases,…
Not saying I’m willing to entertain another wager though… 🤣 Another very interesting development - right now the junior Captain will be in Denver...you need a little more seniority to hold Oakland or LA. |
Sadly I have vacation in July, and was told by SWAPA contract admin take it or leave it. If I take the upgrade I'd have to move my vacation. Since I've made promises to the family that I'm unwilling to break, I'll have to bypass again.

According to the SWAPA SRC personal bidding projection tool, there are 523 pilots senior to me bidding (I’m late 2015).
The top three bids are DEN, DAL, and MCO in order. |

Yes. Vacation week is gone. But “I can’t wait for year end pay thread to be started so I can run to APC and brag about how much I made! Where’s my flip book with pictures of my boat, 3 girlfriends, 4 Wheelers, trout pond, wife’s fake boobs, mountain home, keto diet, Tesla, and calf implants.”

I have seen at least three of y’all’s wives via full iPad presentation, and I mean SEEN. As in all of it. Like a photo shoot. Voluntarily. I mean, thanks I guess. I suppose you want us to see what you’re paying for. But she loves you for YOU. Yeah ok.
/rant off Haha. Same here. One of my first trips in the airline industry had a full on slideshow of naked wife pics. I mean what do you say to something like that? Thanks? Good job? In what freaky deaky universe is that the norm? Thankfully I either gained enough seniority or just put off the "no naked wife" vibe now. I haven't seen anything exposed below the waist in like 3 or 4 years. Some of y'all need Jesus. |
