Didn't we all get to keep our jobs for the last 18 months thanks to that socialist money?

Without it, we might both have been looking for a job as a barista!

Yes, and I’m not so sure I agree with that but we weren’t getting paid MORE than our original pay like so many are nowadays.

Actually for that statement to apply to Southwest Airlines I would say is incorrect. If true capitalism was to take hold SWA would have lasted longer then any of our competitors. With Alaska being second behind us. If one of the big 3 had failed within the first 6 months you would have seen SWA race to fill the void on their hubs with even a smaller presence of what they had. No one wishes (hopefully) anyone to suffer. But the reality is the govt kept mostly everyone afloat including small businesses that got money from the govt. There was no perfect solution to the pandemic and playing hindsight quarter back is always easy.

Down again tonight as of about 0015 eastern. No CWA, no SWALife, and no Southwest.com. Real convenient as our crew was trying to work hotels for our last minute unscheduled overnight.

ETA: Not to mention all the customers trying to recover after the disaster that this week is proving to be.

Yeah, they lost my bag tonight and couldn't login to the system. Customer facing website is down as well. Good times.

Happy 50th anniversary.

Somehow, I think these two events may not be a coincidence...

Maybe the market has just corrected itself. Why make $3/hr as a restaurant server when similar jobs are paying much more? These businesses were quick to layoff workers without any sympathy, so I'm not sure why you, as a labor employee, fault anyone for taking a better option.

They didn’t take a “better option”. They were sitting at home taking full unemployment, plus $600 a week bonus Covid unemployment, plus subsidized rent, food payments, etc.

The $600 went away a long time ago and the $300 dries up soon. Believe it or not, there are better options than getting $8/hr to sling burritos at the airport.

Funny that you're ****ting on them when airlines did the exact same thing, but on a much larger scale. How many airline pilots sat on their ass getting full pay on the taxpayer's dime?
