Like I said already, bid what you want. As of this time of year everything is going out POT,VPF or JA. Even the bottom pilot on the list can get POT right now. I don’t work summers, I do not care, picking up straight, it puts more money into my profitsharing.

There seem to be VPF’s all over the system. A junior guy can snag those all day long. Below the cap junior will beat out a senior player over the cap.

Patience pays off handsomely. I picked up a premium 3-day paying 33 out of base, on a weekday no less.

Having said that, there are times when bidding straight actually makes sense, but these days…. You must really want that specific trip for whatever reason.

Im under 100 from the bottom fo the list and have had no problem getting 2, 3 or 4 day POT trips that pay at least 10-12 a day. And I'm over the cap.
Maybe the captain is a real winner. Guess ill find out!

Its out there. Eat it.

This. It seems some would want the junior pilot to sacrifice straight so they can get premium, when the junior pilot has no alternative but to bid straight to get extra pay. But it’s not selfish for the senior pilot to complain about not getting premium because the junior pilot bid his only option to get the trip.

An awful lot of the senior guys are waaaay over the cap. Plus there's lots of POT and VPF to go around. Bid premium and you'll get some.

Edit - Yes, if just that one trip and only that one trip in open time works for you, by all means bid straight if it's worth it to you. But if you've got ANY flexibility at all and just a little patience, the POT and VPF trips are out there.

Don’t worry, you will get premium just working your line. My four day just paid 42.

There are open time and VPF trips going uncovered with no bids. No amount of juniority right now should stop anyone from getting some premium if they want it.

VPFs all over the system continue. No excuse for junior pilot to pick up anything straight from the company unless they really, really, really want that trip.
