For *******’s sake. Take off those rose colored glasses. 🙄

And just where would you go with those in mind? Every airline I have asked that about has pilots that give the exact same response as you. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE.

I’m not sure I understand what you’re asking. Where would I go now if given a blank check? Delta or UAL personally.

Not a blank check per se, Im looking to maximize home time and schedule flexability as well as have some stability (ie, a company that isnt going anywhere for the next 20 yrs). I spoken to Delta, Allegiant, Breeze, Avelo and Frontier and friends at United and AA. Every single one of those places have their pluses and minuses (some bigger than others!), but each of them also has folks on their forums that claim the same thing you did (not backing you, i genuinely appreciate your feedback...just dont be offended if I dont follow your advice...cant follow everyones, they are all saying contradictory things!), "why would you consider coming here right now"? Everyone seems to think the grass is greener elsewhere. From what I can see, SWA offers the best schedule flexability and financial/reward vs time away from home compramise in a company that, despite its difficulties, is not likely to go anywhere for the next few decades. Allegiant is a hot mess, Avelo appears to be struggling and is HIGH risk for failure, same with Breeze, United is not as flexible and does not have bases ammenable to my family, friend at United is pretty miserable.

I know it wont be perfect, but the USAF certainly wasnt either and I endured that for 20yrs. Ill wager that this will be a fair amount better QOL than what I have now with good stability.

Regardless of how much this job is an improvement over your last, I hope that once on the list you will join your colleagues as a member of our union. When asked, I hope that you will demonstrate that unity with your vote, and if called upon, by holding a sign alongside your colleagues in a demonstration of that unity. What is a retirement gig for you, is a profession for the overwhelming majority. It’s essential that we speak with one voice to argue for improvements that elevate our current CBA to one that suitably rewards pilots for the responsibility they have been given, and the years of experience and hardship that forged the tools we use to shoulder that responsibility.

(See that Whack? Couldn’t even take my own advice. F&H has their social media team out in force these days)

Very, very well said. Thank you.

United has bases in every city that Southwest (except PHX and LAS) so I’m guessing you must want to live in one of those two. Makes sense if retired AF coming from Luke or Nellis…

Oh I fully intend to. I still have 20yrs left, so it's just as much a profession to me, not just some side hustle when I want to wake up.

Uni Ted has a 737 base in LAS now… With CA vacancies unfilled.

Sorry, United does have MCO now, Delta does not. Florida (Central or North) is our desire.
