Default When are we gonna dump Boeing?

How many times does Boeing have to screw up and hurt SWA and their growth plans before we say enough is enough? This is something that should have been addressed a long time ago. Obviously the Max aircraft are good for us but being tied to one producer, especially one that has proven to not be the same company as in the past is a recipe for disaster.

Just getting tired of seeing headlines about Boeings latest failure to deliver airplanes and how that affects SWAs ability to grow and make money. Doesn’t seem like there’s a lot of foresight going on at HQ.

Should have ordered the A220 in March 2019. We'd probably have some on property by now. Right now we don't have a 700 replacement and the MAX7 might never happen.

I totally agree with you, however what’s a viable solution to this? Airbus is backlogged like crazy. We should have gone with the A220-300 instead of the MAX7 but that ship has probably sailed.

I used to think that we could buy an Airbus operator for their jets and pilots but seeing the complete dysfunction and mismanagement lately at SWA, there is no frigging way they can handle such a monumental addition to the company. They can’t even properly manage what they have.

F9 would be a great addition from the standpoint of a really young fleet and tons more orders coming, but they’re all A320s and 321s I believe and management has stated repeatedly that they NEED a smaller aircraft that will be a direct replacement for the -700s.

Breeze would be awesome too with the A220s but they only have 80 of them coming whereas we have about 400 -700s that need replacing.

Like it or not, I think our horse is solidly hitched to the MAX7. At least we got them at a stupid cheap price. Who knows. Maybe they’re negotiating an even further price reduction due to the continued delay.

SWA & Boeing. Two dysfunctional companies that are apparently a perfect match for each other.

Benefits of a single type fleet are lower costs and more efficiency. Drawbacks to a single type fleet are that you're wholly dependent upon a single manufacturer.

If only the damn union wouldn’t get in the way, right?

Will take a CH 11 to change aircraft types.

Maybe that's the reason our management seems to be driving us that way.
