I was in your position, had CJO’s to both. I was on the younger side as well, but that shouldn’t matter. It’s a nice problem to have. I firmly believe you can’t go wrong with both. Obviously it’s one of the most important decisions you’ll make in your life, which makes it stressful.
This sounds corny as heck, but go with your heart, you’ll have less regret no matter the outcome. The seniority movement at AAL is unprecedented. You can be a WB FO in a new 787 or a NB CA in a new A320 in a few years. You can hold any domicile you want in six months. That’s why I chose AAL over SWA. |

I really appreciate everyone's advice on this. I have no airline experience, as I have only flown in the military. However I have heard the number one reason to pick an airline is to live in base.
I am 35 years old. I wouldn't say #1 for everyone, but it should be a high factor on anyone's list. You're young enough that you could live in a base for an airline with low retirement numbers, and still have time to upgrade and make CA money for 20 years. |

I have CJO for both SWA and AA. I will be living in Nashville, TN so the BNA rumors have me leaning to SWA. However AA has a lot of movement and new contract on the horizon. Any advice would be great.

I start at AA July 19th. i made my decision based on the amount of movement and WB flying in the future. i think i would get bored of the 737 for 30 years. i also didn't like the thought of the AM and PM scheduling at SWA. Also guys are upgrading within 18 months at AA whereas SWA is 8 years.

On the airplane side—do people really think that SWA will only have 737’s the next 30 years? Ok. |
