Interview lies....

Just a heads up for anyone thinking of coming here please take whatever they tell you in the interview with a grain of salt, like a tiny, tiny grain of salt....

Here are a few things that were told to us during the interview process last year.

"We will hire 2280 next year" We are on track to net 1200 new hires this year with 1400 being hired and 200+ bailing by the end of the year that leaves 1200 +/-.
"We will upgrade 1000 FO's next year" We are on pace to upgrade 5-600 this year last I heard because of limitations in the school house.
"You can have DAL as a base in 3-4 months from date of hire" Try 7-8 months.... and enjoy that 4 on/3 off weekend reserve forever when you get there.
"Most of our lines are 3 day pairings" Yeah, maybe 5 years ago...
"You will be on reserve for a couple months" True if you're based in BWI or LAS. Good luck anywhere else as bases are adding reserve lines like crazy and reducing blank lines.
"We will have a contract by the end of the year (2022)" LOL
"Max7 will be on property 2nd QTR of 2023" I know the Feds and Boeing are responsible for this but why say this in the interview when the damn thing wasn't even certified?
"It's so easy to TTGA/ELITT trips. You can always get the schedule you want" Is it? ELITT opening today was a complete joke and TTGA/ELITT is a part-time job on my days off.
"Upgrades will come down to 4 years" I'll believe it when I see it.
My favorite... "You will all have Christmas off next year because of your fast seniority" Why say this ****? We know it's not true....

I know new-hires years ago had it way worse than now, and it's not a bad job, glad I'm here(I think) but just don't let the kool-aid sway your decision after the interview. Do your homework and hopefully things turn-around.

Name an airline that doesn’t paint a rosy picture for prospective new hires. This isn’t earth shattering mind blowing news.

I’ve interviewed at a number of places and there’s a difference between a rosy picture and BS.

Anyone from the 5/23 group hear back from the hiring team yet?

Same airline different paint job.

I interviewed at Big D earlier this month and no such picture was painted. I’m sure they have their issues but forward facing only a professional image was presented.

Hope you got it! 🤞

It’s just the SWA arrogance and exceptionalism kicking in. Nothing new to see here.
