Hard Sell

The SWAPA contract pitch has begun. They’re now reminding us what the stated intentions of the contract homepage are.

No mention of hotel language, etc.

last time for the 2016 contract that fell a billion short, they did not remind us of what we asked for. Maybe this is to show we are still far apart?
they also activated a strike center today.
I could use new yrs off!

Welp better fix the hotels or all this hard work over the last 4 years is all for naught imo.

I was told by a swapa base rep that the hotels were a bridge too far... Eh! Ok, 'No' became easier.

Engagement in swapa, more difficult.

What are the hotel issues that you all are encountering? *Non-SWA pilot asking.

Expectation Management is in full swing. Execs and NC "educate" the BOD on what is "ratifiable". Much like the NMB, our SWAPA Execs and Committee members have an agenda, and that often doesn't key in perfectly with Pilot Sentiment.

The Turd will be presented to the BOD; that ship has sailed. Mandatory Overtime on days off (that still isnt fully rigged), Hotel and Transportation Quality and Standards, and the last minute concession on Co-Terminals will be some of the bigger uglies.

The BOD is now literally the last element that can ensure the last 3 years aren't wasted in the best negotiating environment in pilot history.

Text, email, call your BOD representation. Ask questions. Inform them what your lines in the sand are.

This will be the work rules and compensation you'll work under through 2030-2032 if history is any indication.

I have to agree, when I first read the email I was like, “well here we go, time to remind us that they are asking for 2016 improvements not 2023 improvements “. It’s going to be a ****ty TA I would bet a months paychecks on it.

I don’t know why they can’t see that the market has changed since they did all this polling last decade.

I don’t get it either. I thought the exact same thing. Get ready to be underwhelmed!

Do y'all negative nancies need your no voting bell before an agreement is even made?

For all practical purposes, this last email is just a reminder where you can track the status of sections AIP'd, what's open and outstanding, where you can ask questions directly to NC SME's, where you can be an educated voter, not the emotional one.... 11/30 podcast anyone? The "supposal" could have and probably was a dud, and this could have very well been a reminder why we DON'T have an agreement just yet, why certain things just aren't "good enough" if they aren't industry-leading.

Log in to SWAPA website, go to Resources, click on Contract 2020 and have fun with it. Ask questions - they'll respond within a day or read previously asked questions. There is nothing to sell one way or another just yet.

Just stop with the educate yourself. I would say every No earn my yes is far more educated than the typical if John is yes I’m a yes. GMAB! As for the supposal, guess you failed to read where SWAPA said it wasn’t as bad as they thought, but they sent a counter. As far as the 11/30 podcast. MEH. You keep crying emotions because many here want their yes earned. Get off your whinny soap box. I have zero emotions for SWA or this contract. What I do have is high expectations of my worth. Sorry you value your worth below that.
