For bidding purposes, that's 59:30 towards your line construction window, which is +/- 10 hours from the average line value for the month, which is set by the Company. The ALV can go from 72-84, although it is boxed in by another limit called the TLV, which is basically an average of the trailing ALVs, and has to be within 73-78 hours. That means the line construction window can be anywhere from 62 to 91:30 hours, but you are always guaranteed 65 hours (the company eats the cost for a low line) and there is a cap on the LCW at 91:30. You can select a min bid (LCW from ALV -10 to the ALV), a max bid LCW from the ALV to ALV+10) or leave it wide open (-10 to +10).
When you bid your line for the month, PBS will place your vacation on the weeks you bid, but you are allowed to "slide" the block to anywhere in the bid month as long as you can hold those days off (otherwise you get what you bid). PBS will then process your bid as usual, until it reaches your LCW. In the above case, if the ALV was 75, the LCW would be from 65-85, and if you bid a min sched, it would process your bid until it got to 65+ and then stop. Since you were already at 59:30, it doesn't take much to get to 65, two days at most. You can always fly more if you want, but you cannot fly on any vacation days.
Another feature of the DAL vacation system is you can peel off individual vacation days two times a year and use them to drop trips with reserve coverage well below what is usually necessary (25%). You only need 1 day to drop a trip of any size, but the drop is unpaid other than the number of vacation days you drop. You can drop an unlimited number of trips based on the reserve coverage (which does happen), you have 1 silver bullet a year, that allows you to drop a trip well below reserve coverage, and you can always give away your trip on the pilot to pilot swap board.
The value of the vacation day goes to 4:35 for the 2025-26 vacation year, so all the math changes.

For the next vacation year, a vacation day at DAL is worth 4:15/day. A "week" of vacation is 7 days. If you have two weeks, it's 14x4:15 or 59:30 for the bid period (basically a calendar month but not always).
