I haven’t flown to St. Thomas since I did it in the ATR.

I was just there a few months ago and our driver for the day asked when we were going to start service there. It's a beautiful island. It's recovered much better than the BVI from the hurricanes. Guessing we won't overnight there, but it would be amazing if we do.

I lived on St. Thomas for a year and 2 years on St. Croix.
Excellent sailing and diving, great local rum and great sea food.
You guys will probably be doing turns.
Easy peasy now that the STT runaway is much longer than in the heydays when there was accidents at both ends now and then.
For anybody considering a move to the island, make sure you read a book called “Don’t Stop The Carnival”.
Loved it back in the day.

The Eastern 757s did good, raw power..
I Flew DC-3s out of STT, 5 round trips a day to SJU, glad I never lost an engine with 30 pax and full luggage going towards the cut in the hill.
Fun landing the wrong way, had to watch the wingtips through the cut on short final, no spoilers or reverse, come in low and slow.
Watch out for the Christmas Winds, strong winds from the North over the mountain, (left crosswind) with severe downdrafts, saw a Twin Otter get caught, he tried a go-around with firewall power to escape and still slammed into the runway but survived with only minor damage,

It was sporty, AA had one go off the end of the runway, across the road and into a gas station, not pretty..

My favorite landings were the old Tortola, Dominica, St. Vincent, and another short one I can’t remember. Antigua? Anguilla? I dunno anymore.
