Sick time

Anyone know what happens to our accrued sick time when we cross over.

DOGIII 09-19-2013 06:19 PM

Why would I care about sick time as a ghost?

AirTran sick time is carried over to SWA and converted to TFP equivalent.

SIDE LETTER 13: NEGATIVE SICK LEAVE BALANCE TRANSFER AND REPAYMENT PLAN FOR AIRTRAN PILOTS
In accordance with our agreement related to Negative Sick Leave Balances for AirTran Pilots, Southwest and SWAPA do hereby agree to the following amendments to the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). The following amendment applies until all Pilots from AirTran Airways have transitioned to Southwest and repaid their negative sick leave balances.
AirTran Pilots who transition to Southwest Airlines will bring across their sick leave balances from Bank 1 (positive sick leave accrual) and Bank 2 (negative sick leave balances) and converted from Hours to TFP.
Once an AirTran Pilot begins training at Southwest, 50 percent of sick leave accrual each month will be applied to reducing/eliminating Bank 2 balances. Once a Pilot’s sick leave balance reaches 100 TFP, 100 percent of the accrual will be applied to Bank 2. Pilots may volunteer to reduce Bank 2 at any time by applying any sick leave accrual brought with them from AirTran or accrued at Southwest. Once the balances in Bank 2 have been eliminated, 100 percent of the accrual will be applied to the Pilot’s sick bank.
No Pilot may accumulate a new negative sick leave balance nor create a bigger deficit in existing Bank 2 balances. Once all Pilots from AirTran have eliminated their Bank 2 balance, this Side Letter will become null and void.

For all you tranny captains out there. (especially the senior ones) Your sick time accrued at $186/hour will transfer over at whatever the fo rate of pay will be for you at SWA. Not sure what the FO rates at SWA are but they are not $186 per hour. You will be losing $ on your accrued sick leave.

Any airtran pilot who has any sick time is clearly immortal and impervious to pain, illness and will live forever... minus 2.5 years or so...... Take a week off!! You *****!

The max TFP is $133. They played us so make sure you play their system as best you can. Use it up while you're still getting $186/hr instead of $133/TFP. What comes around goes around. $(#& 'em.

BAHAHAHAHA!!!! A loser, huh? Yeah okay.........whatever there Oscar. Maybe YOU are the loser for never using your sick time and letting it accrue to the cap.

So you mean to tell me that you're capped out and no longer accruing sick time because of that and I'm the loser, huh?

No Whack, what Oscar is telling you is that he is willing to fly sick. FARs be damned.

I used to cover for company men before I figured out they care more about bragging rights than they care for the well being of 130 pax.
