Awesome. Nice job. I can't wait to see the new Detla and SW TA's.
|

The Crystal Palace is going to need to shelve their sparkley-new Code Share software that they were going to implement in early 2016.
Cry me a river. :p |
Well done, guys! Maybe there's hope for us yet. Now, as much as PJ owned this TA, hopefully he will follow Donatelli's lead at DALPA and also do the right thing.
|
Imagine what the rejection percentage would've been had PJ and Co. (including the usual ex SWApullies and SWApologists) not sold it like a used car salesman on the last day of the month!
38% yes is far too high. Thanks yes voters, you've just extended the time it's gonna take to get an acceptable contract, because TA2 is gonna suck as well. |
Glad to hear you guys/gals are willing to fight for it! Congrats!

Pathetic. I'm happy that it failed but considering how concessionary it was and the negotiating environment we find ourselves in, it's still pathetic to have over a third vote YES.

You know what the really sad and pathetic thing is folks? We are probably stuck with Babbit and MVDV in the next round. I was hoping they would disappear. There continued employment is probably guaranteed.

Now you wish to demonize?... Anyone I see who demonizes someone will be challenged by me. I guess we will see how the employee code of conduct works.

Frankly I don't have a philosophy towards life that would EVER want me to join sides with many of my fellow pilots. I will repeat.......EVER. I carried around a black tie and my "new" SWAPA pin for months. I could never bring myself to wear it though. I see the looks of some because I don't have a black tie on. In my own little sick way I kind of enjoy their reactions. Bottom line is for many of my fellow pilots I simply DON'T LIKE THEM.

Guess what TH.....individuals voted the way they thought was in their best interests. Now you wish to demonize? The NO voters won. I get their concerns. Now the fun begins again. Anyone I see who demonizes someone will be challenged by me. I guess we will see how the employee code of conduct works. OBTW, just about every FAT I have flown with is awesome. The others were okay, just like any other SWA pilot if you ask me. I am not afraid of the future. Just worried about those we choose to represent us.......especially today.
Oscar out. |
When SWAPA starts taking feedback from the pilot group about what we want in the next round of negotiations, perhaps we all need to voice our collective outrage about Babbit.
He needs to be removed from the process in its entirety. If we collectively stand together, he will be gone. |
Sherpas who always arrive at the jet just before you and adjust your seat just the way you like it. Too much?

Oh, and hotel language. No more hotels in business parks. Get rid of the BOS AM dump first. |

You mean full forward and up? Apparently we already have those. |

As long as we are being facetious, how about quit removing the retractable sun shades and printers from the new airplanes!? Maybe replace the clip on shades when they get all scratched up and nasty. And electric seats. (Along with my usual gripes: parking, crew meals, uniforms, gear pins, and babysitting).

Oscar might be a demon? Nice...... As I said before, I sleep well at night knowing that someone's husband or the police won't be knocking on my door. I will stay on APC to point out hypocrisy by all including myself if need be. The Oscar |

Never claimed to perfect FTL. I fall victim to the same human failures that afflict many. In my case, I feel that I am able to recognize those failures with at least SOME moral code. Others don't recognize their decisions as anything but relative. Anything and everything they do is for selfish reasons. If their actions have a negative effect on others........it never enters their minds. One only needs to listen to some of the conversations I have had with my fellow pilots. I walk away thinking "why did they tell me that?" I guess I don't understand why someone would brag about doing something illegal or something that might get them killed by someone else's spouse. I just don't get it.

But you pique our curiosity nonetheless!
Pray tell.......... |

The Oscar disproportionate number of the fine ATL folks voted to accept the abortion. Doesn't mean I'm demonizing anyone, whatever that means. You are seriously no fun whatsoever. |

Fair enough, but this is an airline pilot forum so I am not sure why such things would be germane especially when the subject is a TA.
The Oscar BTW I was leaning NO for quite awhile. Then a few know-it-alls opened their mouths and I began to reconsider. My thought process was in the end there was too much risk. Let's now see if the gamble succeeds. |

I voted No because the retirement didn't meet my expectations. If both a Delta pilot and a SW pilot have an identical pay rate the Delta pilot's take home is 10% greater because they don't need to invest 10% of their take home in their retirement plan (unless they want to). That said, I fully expect that the next TA won't happen until summer 2016 at the earliest and if the economy has taken a dive by that point we will be lucky if it is "flattish". So while I believe in standing up for yourself, I am also a realist. Sometimes you have to stand up for yourself even when you realize it's probably going to cost you in the end. I personally believe the next TA will be a shadow of what this one was with any improvements weighted towards the seniormost pilots.
