Ok, so do people like the Karbon jacket or not? This thread went a whole lot of sideways.

Not nearly as much as I like the Miata.

So some say it’s very warm and others say it’s not warm at all so I guess I’ll plan on buying the puffy liner coat, too. What about size? I’m right on the line of L and XL according to their size chart. Does it tend to run big or small and how much will the inner jacket affect the size?

Thin gloves and the jacket are plenty for a walk around unless it's getting below zero and windy.

It takes up less space than the half side o' beef leather jacket, is warmer, and costs less. What's not to like?

I say it’s not warm but at least it doesn’t breathe well. I still like it more than the side of beef (love that!) leather jacket. It’s far more versatile and packs easily into the roll aboard suitcase. It’s warm enough for 98% of what we need jackets for and if it’s too cold while waiting for the hotel van in MSP or MKE in January the leather option isn’t going to change much. Finally, it doesn’t have that Arthur Fonzarelli look some folks seem to need.

My leather jacket has hung in the closet since I got my Karbon jacket.

And I repeat: a Mazda MX-5 Miata is a sports car.

Soooo, should I order a L or XL in the jacket and should I order a L or XL in the inner puffy coat?

I wear a L in everything else, and ordered a L in both the jacket and liner (order the same size liner as the jacket you choose, they factor it all in). I'm 6'1" 185 lbs. Fits great, liner is packable, and looks great with and without the pilot bedazzling.

The Miata is sporty, just like the dress I wear when I'm driving it.

I found the outer coat runs big

I am a wear a medium in everything - shirts, jackets, and the medium fits me fine. I am ilon the slender side and have to have my shirts tailored or they look like a sack. I had to do the same thing with the jacket. I love it and strongly prefer it to the leather until January and February. That’s when the beef come out.

The blazer is lightweight. And you can even look like an airline pilot as opposed to a Dominos Pizza delivery driver if you wear it!

I wear a LG Long in just about everything but ordered a XL Long on someone's recommendation. Bad choice. It's huge on me.
