Which Medical Plan??
What med plan is most popular for family 4 at SW?? How much do you pay? Thanks!

Regular plan is gaining more popularity as more people find out about it. No premiums and $300 max OOP. Only gotcha is preventative visits (well visits, mammograms, etc) aren't covered but savings of no premiums makes up for it.

What Flyguy said. There are very few situations in which the regular plan is not the best choice. You'll save thousands per year.

Just a slight correction. The $300 is the deductible for a family. The max OOP is $2500. Still a better deal for most people than Choice Plus.

Regular plan is the least expensive, but it is also the most restrictive in things like orthodontics, dentists and preventative things. Also disqualifies you from a good auto insurance deal. I am trying to find out why some other benefits are disallowed if one chooses the regular plan. We have been on the choice plan for years because of well baby care after the birth of our kids. Don't need that anymore so trying to accomplish due diligence and make the best financial decisions for my family. The Group rate for auto insurance would save us 1000 a year over Geico. Couple that with regular plan savings and we are talking a nice chunk of money.

What's this about auto insurance? Is this through SWAPA or something?

The catch is that the fine print on the RP says not eligible but Met Life has no knowledge of what medical plan we are on. This a kompany imposed limit that nobody wants to explain. SNAFU. |

No the kompany. It's a group plan with Met Life and my savings were 1k with lower deductible vs. Geico.
