I remember the frustration. Sucked. 2nd year pay helps a lot, and hopefully we can get some more scratch for everyone during that time.
Yeah man, reality hit at 3 months brining an overall fear of "can I really make it for 9 more months." The fear turned to anger at 6 months (management, the schedules, the dead heads, the long crappy overnights, the stupidity of scheduling, having my pay screwed up all the time, our crappy IT.) 8 months is when the hate was born. I am 100% ready to strike today. By 12 months I'm sure I'll be fully committed to the dark side.

Good...good...let the hate flow through you
https://youtu.be/2Oy6DwHAi70

And being the fact you are still on year 1 pay...I cant imagine any scenario where I wouldn't be trying to get out of Spirit.

2 buckets...

One has the hope for a contract that keeps our QOL and a big raise, more airplane orders, an upgrade (at all) for you, not having a merger putting you even lower for a shot at upgrade, base closings etc..

The other bucket has Bendo dropping a deuce after eating all you can eat Cuban food from a local FLL restaurant...

Question is....which bucket will fill up first?

Nothing you dont already know, but yeah, guys should be beating down doors looking to leave vs the little seniority they have gained here.

I dropped everything I could my first year, it wasn't worth it to go to work for that little.

I just came from being a 5 year FO where I watched over half of our airplanes be given away to other carriers.

lol...
You'd be surprised how many captains want to shutdown #2 before APU start. When informed, they say "oh we've always done it this way". So, there's at least just as many FOs that aren't following the manuals.
Good for you, put someone down for following safe procedures, awesome, shows us what a professional you are.

Oh so sensitive....come on. You really are upset about making a joke about you being a wild child who opens ketchup from the wrong end?

You're supposed to start the APU. Any FO that accepts the "don't start the APU, we have always done it that way" is not following a procedure, created for added fire safety.

Why are they not reminding the Ca, in the correct way, that the procedure has changed and the reason behind it? And if still an issue, we have ProStands to handle issues of pilots blatantly violating a safety procedure, after willfully disregarding a reminder from the SIC, being a professional as you mentioned.

As an FO, you going to sit there and say nothing if the Ca says to not start the APU? Are half the FOs not as outspoken as you are, by allowing a CA to tell them to not start the APU?

Are these the "douche hat wearers" you spoke about before?
