Spirit Hiring

Anyone out there know what a competitive Spirit app looks like? 3K TT, age restricted ATP until July, no degree, no 121, 2600 PIC, and 1200 turbine, perhaps?

OneEyedMonster 04-15-2017 01:23 PM

Well, it looks like you were not able to see the current Spirt Hiring News thread that is active, 2 threads down. But hey, lets start a new one just for you.

Looks like you haven't bothered to read the Spirit jobs pages where it clearly states "Current UNRESTRICTED ATP"

No pt 121 experience

No degree (but in fairness, you are just old enough to have even been able to achieve one)

Lower TT numbers.

Well, I say you are just what we are looking for. You relentless pursuing of this information leaves me with little doubt you would be highly successful in our accelerated training program

And I know im being a jerk. Its just when you wont even bother to look yourself, you bring it on yourself.

Why did you start a new hiring thread??

Hey Einstein. Not only is there an entire thread dedicated to this, you'll see pages of us advising people not to waste their time coming here. We are all trying to leave for a reason. Go to a regional and upgrade in a year and go work at a real company

This is not a real company. This is a regional operating airbuses, led by a bunch of individuals who dispise us.

Exactly. So let him go work at a regional not disguised as an Airbus operation. Upgrade in a year and get a job at a real company like United or Southwest

Qotsaautopilot 04-15-2017 06:18 PM

Go to school and get the degree. College isn't for everyone you may need it one day and you don't want to pigeonhole yourself into a place like spirit because you didn't get one.

flywright 04-15-2017 07:12 PM

Don't know why anyone would come to Spirit anymore. Here is a top 10 of why you should not come to Spirit

1. 38.50 = 25k-30k first year pay. Good news is you will qualify for food stamps
2. No insurance for 3 months. Ask the guy that had a brain tumor in training how that went. Never mind, he's dead
3. Pay is half what others are making flying the 320. FO's at majors make more than our CA's
4. No profit sharing when everyone else has it - $$$$$ loss
5. Retirement - Will cost you MILLIONS in retirement alone to come here
6. NO UPGRADE INSIGHT - the 3 year upgrade is over. Guys getting hired right now will have longer upgrades than SWA or any Major
7. Looming Merger with Frontier. Guaranteed to be a mess
8. Looming Strike. Hope you are ready to walk the line. That's the only way we will ever get a raise here.
9. Free High Fives and Smiles?? Thats Spirits version of a bonus.
10. SELF TRAIN for two MONTHS at the FLL Crown Plaza with no clothes washing facilities, but you do get a microwave in your room! Good luck getting home, they wont put you in CASS or give you positive space travel. You are STUCK
11. good luck not getting a pink slip in training. Its self train, but they don't give you what you need to succeed. And good luck with those 4 full motion sims prior to your check ride. Other airlines give you 10+; Spirit = 4. GOOD LUCK, you're going to need it!
12. I know I said top ten but could keep going and going. DO NOT COME HERE

Yeah about 6 months ago. The tumor came back. I'm still bitter how the company handled the situation. Basically fired him and washed their hands. We have a great pilot group that did a lot to help his family out, but as far as I know SPIT WINGS did nothing!

PlaneYogurt 04-17-2017 06:03 AM

We have 7 guys on the Union sponsored list waiting for sick time donations due to illness and family troubles. It's absolutely discusting that the PILOTS have to take care of the sick because of company loopholes. Not to mention the latest healthcare proposal from the company is worse than what our flight attendants have.

For those of you that think this place is better than a regional, think again.

Are we playing hardball yet? Because the gosh darn mother fracking company is. I would expect nothing less from them

What can we do in the face of Railway labor act and greedy pilots that are only out for themselves?

Greedy pilots are only a minor group. If we pass the word around and get more unity events to spread the word, I believe the message will sink in. For every one greedy phucktard, we need 3 to swamp them out.

Mod Note:

I thought we all agreed to no longer use profanity?

ovrtake92 04-18-2017 08:33 AM

Sorry missus vagaboooond, the class said in unison

Qotsaautopilot 04-18-2017 08:50 AM

We still haven't been explained why profanity used by grown adults all over the world within peer groups is not allowed on apc. It's a money thing right?

Qotsaautopilot 04-18-2017 09:23 AM

Constant profanity is trashy but proper usage should be allowed imo, but hey, their sandbox

Why does it matter? What's so great about profanity?

Do you let your children use it? I doubt it. Hypocritical, yes?

Whether used or not, it's their site. You don't like it, move on. It's a free world and they owe you nothing.

OneEyedMonster 04-18-2017 09:50 AM

This is a forum to educate prospective pilots about the career and for current pilots to discuss (complain) about the career.

Seems like swearing and profanity is a pretty good training syllabus for anyone wanting to get in this career.

Vagabond....if you only knew what the conversation up front is most of the time.

Must be really hiring low Tiered applicants .

Just wait until one of them bends an airplane, maybe then mgmt will wish they hadn't been so cheap......

Oh that's right, they don't Care.......

Would just be another Plane for Miami Air to replace.

Another pilot got put on the Sick Time Donation List yesterday. I think that brings the total up to 7 or 8?

Remember guys to donate your sick time before you quit. Don't let this garbage company have it back

Disgraceful

And yes he works sick

Things that make you go hmmm.

Continued:
More reasons not to come to Spirit

13. Pass riding is severely lacking. Regionals have better bennies than we do. No Delta, No American, No United. Good luck non-raving on our limited route structure with consistently full flights. We do have Air Swahili though. Big perk
14. We have about 5 -7 different passwords to remember. Company IT is pathetic. Our company employee website doesn't even work and hasn't worked the last 3 years. No plans to fix it.
15. Worst Moral ever. Its hard to come to work anymore. Everyone is miserable
16. Company continues to willfully violate contract. We have to take it and grieve it, then wait months if not years for a resolution. No respect
17. No AQP. Recurrent here is checkmark training. Its rare to learn anything that would be useful in a real life emergency. Most airlines have moved to AQP, but Spirit doesn't even have it on the radar.
18. YES I'm on number 18 and more to come- DO NOT COME HERE!

That's about the biggest load. I've NEVER met anyone here who was unpleasant and 'miserable' as you speak to the point where I don't want to come to work. I actually enjoy coming to work with my peers here and that's more so than any other company I've been at.

It's getting hard for me to get excited about coming to work. I'd be willing to bet it's more than you think. Moral is low no doubt about it.

Morale is very low...morals, on the other hand, are fine (at least mine are, except when they aren't  :D).

I'm completely aware and not happy with the pay situation. I just choose not to let a job destroy my personal life and personality. I never once said everyone I meet is ecstatic about our pay rates. Just because we're not currently paid industry standard doesn't mean I need to fly around be a db and live a miserable life and do my best to bring everyone down.
