Will we Reach a T/A this week!!! Vote now!

In honor of Labor day, lets start the discussion on just how well this week will go???? Mr. Fornaro said in an email he feels we will close out negotiations this week and the Mediator also has expectations that we will reach a T/A. Both are very aware of our ask.

Plaaaaace your Bets!! Ladies & Gents.

Im usually a Dog player when it comes to betting so I say, T/A by friday afternoon!

Im not even sure theyll say that. If its all or nothing I think the only way we make progress is by getting a TA?, lol. Guess we'll see

Idk, but no matter what the outcome is. I know a cold alcoholic beverage will fit the occasion!

Yessir! And hopefully its to cheer a new contract and not to drown our sorrows, lol.

I think the NMB will provide some "ice" for those alcoholic beverages. Rather than the "release" we are all hoping for. After this long, drawn out, crappy, unlubed, severely chaffed reach around.

Lets not get crazy now lol , 🤣🤣

Qotsaautopilot 09-04-2017 03:41 PM

Spirit management won't be attending because they have to "prep" for hurricane Irma even though that means Bendo goes to bobs house in Orlando and smokes cigars

Directautogroup 09-04-2017 03:42 PM

We will be parked until after the New Year. Same schedule the board did to Hawaiian last year at this time.

Dukeuno 09-04-2017 04:09 PM

I would bet this week gets cancelled because of Irma. Then when we do meet, I expect us to be put on ice.

Not that long after. They had few open items to begin with and of course the board will never release folks anywhere near the holiday travel season.

I think they also were a heck of a lot closer than we are too. SMH

Sherpa 09-04-2017 05:56 PM

Don't confuse getting iced or put on hiatus with a 30 day cooling off period. Iced means no more dates until one of the parties signals they are willing to bend the knee and move off their position.

Where's option 4, "Yes, but far below our ask?"

I'm anticipating the Board to force out a substandard TA (in good faith, naturally) and force us to vote on it. If we want to prove that we really will hold out for industry standard, it's up to us to vote this first one down. (Thereby dragging this out months longer.)

Meanwhile the CO hopes that they've beaten us down enough so that people will vote "It's been too long already" and pass it by a 50.0000001% margin.

No way. The Mediafor and /or the NMB cant make the MEC put out a T/A, they can only apply pressure. A failed T/A would set us back at least 12 months IMO.

Also, the mediator is well aware of our ask and IMO if she didnt feel it was close to being reasonable she wouldnt be wastinf everyones time by having all of the decision makers available.

If she thought our ask was absurd I dont think she would be requesting them to be available

Thank you.

I'm not 100% clear and I assumed my above scenario was plausible.

But the part about "Setting us back 12 months" would be exactly what MGMT wants, so....

The national mediation board is a political entity with political appointees. Therefore, like the rest of every politician in this country, does not give a flying crap (pun intended) about you, the 'worker.' We are VERY far away from seeing any economic gains. In fact, politicians are working on a way to replace us with H-1b visa holders. They just have to figure out how to sell it to the general public. Meanwhile, get used to our current compensation structure

Super EZ E 09-04-2017 07:18 PM

When did Spirit start to require a College degree? Flying the Airbus is a GED level job. LOL

The US H-1B visa is a non-immigrant visa that allows US companies to employ graduate level workers in specialty occupations that require theoretical or technical expertise in specialized fields such as in IT, finance, accounting, architecture, engineering, mathematics, science, medicine, etc. Any professional level job that usually requires you to have a bachelors degree or higher can come under the H-1B visa for specialty occupations. If you do not have a bachelors degree or higher you may be able to show degree equivalence through work experience and/or other qualifications.

see the words 'usually requires you to have a bachelors degree of higher'? if you portend to be a contractual expert, you should know words like usually, to the greatest extent, as much as possible, mean nothing.......i hope you read the TA in 2020 so you don't vote for something we can't enforce.......

so besides the h1b visa part, what about what i said is incorrect? you do realize what 'our' DOT is doing with 'open skies', right? you do realize the system is rigged, right? should i just be positive for positives sake? will that help get us compensated fairly?
you just haven't learned the difference between negativity and reality. as you mature, you'll see it more clearly.----contract 2020

They should all be on their way to BWI as we type :).

You know what? Why not just bring a Ratifiable T/A tomorrow AM and they can be back to their homes in FLL by dinner. Days before Irma, problem solved
