I didn’t see this one advertised on LinkedIn or Facebook. I’m looking at close to $800 round trip to get there on short notice (not currently working at a CASS participant) and possibly calling in sick, probably just gonna make it happen unless someone thinks waiting for the next one isn’t a bad idea.
They never did the meet the chiefs thing back in the day when I was hired so I can't speak on that. As for the next meet and greet or job fair or whatever they do now a days, if you actually want to work here then "waiting for the next one" should never even be a question.

Not sure how significant the meet the chiefs are. I do know that a seniority difference of as little as a week could drastically affect your entire career. It could mean the difference of being furloughed one day or not, upgrade or downgrade, holding or being displaced from your base of choice, getting the vacation you want, etc, etc.

Point being seniority is everything and the sooner you get on a list the better. A week or a month of seniority could have no affect but I’ve been unlucky enough to realize the difference of one week of seniority can drastically change your life. There are also guys in this industry where a few seniority numbers was the difference between an extra few hundred thousand or million dollars.

I personally wouldn’t want to wonder if not going to this event is one of the reason that I didn’t get a call. It took me multiple job fairs to get on with Spirit, the first one seems like a waste of time and money, since nothing came out of it. So I get it why you may be thinking twice about it. I personally would do what I can to help my career, and it seems like this meet and greet would give me a better chance than other applicants.

If they emailed and invited you to the event and you WANT to fly for Spirit, then I’d do everything I could to get there. I went to a meet and greet last summer and was hired on the spot. Walked out with a packet of paperwork to complete and a class date.

I second that. If you want to work here, go to the event. Since the contract was signed, the hiring mins have gone up and the pool is much more competitive. Good luck

I went last August. Since I never went to an interview I have no idea how they differ. I was in the room for maybe 20 minutes.

Thanks everyone for all the info, I arrived in Dallas today, found some cheaper flights out of SFO, like $500 less, just had to drive 3 extra hours but like someone said I did not want to wonder if this was the difference in getting the airline job or not. I’ll share any info I get after I meet with recruiting tomorrow.
