Widebody’s at Spirit?
Would it be....
A350-900? A330-200/300? A330 NEO’s? If now isn’t the time for the USA to have a ULCC go international, when is? It takes a few years to get the A/C programs up and running etc. Could it be possible we order a handful of short-medium range C-Ceries and Long Haul aircraft. MCO and FLL south & east. BWI east. And possibly, but doubtful, LAX west? Time will tell, the big 3 don’t really have much International growth, JB is codeshared out, and besides NAX, why not give it a go. Of course our current biz model works, however the fork in the road is quickly approaching it seems. |

Never going to happen...
More likely this... https://www.airbus.com/newsroom/press-releases/en/2018/07/airbus-introduces-the-a220-100-and-a220-300.html |

Not sure we could go “Deep South” with these....according to management.
NO seriously. I didn’t hear anyone saying the DS bit. Where did you here that? |

Lol!! It was in an article written in Airliner world magazine. Interviewed our head honcho.
Folks.. relax. If we order planes they’re going to be the 220 or 320. Or similar size. If we get anything bigger we’d get bought before they ever showed up. Anyone know the door code in LAX crew base? Oh yeah.. never mind. |

Looks like an underpowered 757

I don't see any US ULCCs getting into the discount international wide body long haul market any time soon. This is already saturated going east with airlines like NAI, Condor, and WOW or west by all the random Asian carriers (spend some time at LAX). The profit margins are already too thin, and the financial risk is too high. Now narrow body to South America? That I could see. Doesn't Sprit already do a ton of business far south of the border?

Think he means Embraer. I might have to agree with him. Our management keeps fiddling with their diddle while every other airline is putting in orders and delivery schedules will keep getting pushed back.
Something tells me that by the time our leaders pull their heads out and make a order the only thing left that can make any kind of delivery schedule will be 190’s or 195’s. |
JetBlue will have some slightly used E190s in a couple of years you can have. The backaches are at no extra charge.

I hear Airbus needs A380 buyers. Without Emerates, the A380 production line would go silent. Maybe we could get a deal on these.
Greensboro to Richmond would sell out on the A380. Or CMH to CAK. New routes would open up for sure. |

He's probably right as rain. We've already bought sombrero equipped used A319's from a buy here pay here lot.
Well let’s try and focus on facts... the sombrero airframes came because the NEOs are crap... EVERY other airframe has been straight from the factory...probably a little dramatic don’t ya think? EMBs will never be on property here... used or new... they’ve already looked at it and it gets destroyed by the 220 |
Looks like NK going with the 220. Look for more info late this week from Farnborough.

Oh cool. Are they to arrive before or after all the 737s you said were coming? [emoji57] |

I can only tell what he has said, others have said Ted C has said the same thing. |

A leasing company ordered 80 Neo’s today at Farnborough. Some of these could be coming our way as the leasing company and buyers remained anonymous.

Great news! I hope they come with plenty of shrink wrap and permanent ramp space so they can sit around and not get in the way. I just love how quiet and fuel efficient they are, that NEO really fits in well with our low cost business model. High five!

Leasing company? Indigo? Place your bets...

I can’t print the words to describe how happy I am every time I arrive at the gate and it’s an old stinky 319 sitting there and not a NEO.
Plus second jumpseat for my bag... and stranded crew. Newer is definitely not always better. Flew the 73 for years, a fine bird. Flies much better than the bus, no brake temp, real auto-throttle, Vnav, very solid, not as comfy... |
