Is PBS coming in March?

I hear the March 2019 bidding will be on PBS.
AQP by summertime?
Anyone care to elaborate, confirm or deny?

That’s a big 10-4.

The company cant afford to stall out PBS implementation, and so far, they have not stalled it a bit. They NEED PBS staffing to be set before going into spring break and summer time flying. Its not like they can say "If we can get it by March, we will, if not, no big deal". Their staffing plan is dependent on PBS being effective by the increase of block hours.

When has the company EVER been cooperative in anything dealing with pilot negotiations? But look at this, they seem to be going right along with us on the PBS details. Fine by me, bring on the 3.5 rig and slight increase to the duty period...and say your final goodbyes to the reserve drops.

RIP reserve drops, this makes me cry. Welcome sickcations!

Is that even possible? I thought there was a trial period after pbs was finalized where actual bidding was done through lines and pbs was available for people to practice and learn with but not actually for bidding. I would expect pbs required staffing wouldn’t happen until the end of that period which would be after the summer. I may have misunderstood the rollout process

You're right. They should have a 2 or 3 month parallel bid before we fully switch to PBS. So maybe they'll start that in December?

I wont expect the parallel bidding until bidding for jan/feb schedules

I also assumed that there would be some sort of a parallel bidding system for 3-4 months, were we still use line bidding for line award, but bid using PBS to compare the 2.

Update a week ago was NavBlue trains pilot trainers down in FLL in either December or early January. This will allow the trainers to be in crew rooms for the week January 14-20.

What’s unsure is when the parallel bidding would begin.

If they're there to begin sending people to train end of jan, one can assume it's for the march bid (which happens early feb)

But all speculation of course
