I did it at my previous airline. I usually used AA and was in the Jumpseat 95% of the time. There was only one time I didn’t make it home. That said, it was very stressful.

Why not commute to LAS?

Used to fly that route at my previous airline. Dozens of Js/non revs, usually full to begin with. Flight deck jumpseaters half the time Id say. Lots of Delta and AA guys on that route.

Flights on AA are usually full and there are a lot of jumpseaters.

My friend who's a captain at Alaska does it and he hates it. Sometimes he has to go through PHX. Good luck.

Usually legacy hub to legacy hub commutes are terrible. I wouldn’t imagine many of our guys do LAX-DFW outside of a few out of base pickups or the occasional skipped DHD. I’m pretty sure all of our LAX commuters are LAS based.

Might even be worth seeing if you can ship yourself on FEDEX. I know AFW (and maybe even DFW) goes direct to a lot of places besides MEM.

Probably have to go ONT-AFW, idk if that’s worth it. You can check schedules on ALPA Jumpseat website for FedEx.

I've done that route a ton. Never had a JS on board.

Fedex does AFW-LAX both directions.
