"...the airline that grew into the largest U.S. carrier now offers more than 240 departures per day from Baltimore to 64 other cities. Over the years, Southwest transformed BWI as the state hurried to keep pace with its growth, building a terminal exclusively for the airline."

Wow! Easy on the adjectives. Every Airline has uniform issues. When I was at a Legacy I got crap because I wouldn't wear the hat! Get over it, we don't work for the Military. I don't need a hat or a stupid bomber jacket.

What ever happened to the HNL base?

I already bought a surf board about a year ago.

Lol I’ve never heard of that one...But hey I can start that rumor. I did hear Hawaiian is interested in us.

Opening BWI as a crew base makes sense. However what financial gain/advantage would there be for Spirit to close ACY? I believe ACY is also a mx base too. Your thoughts.

That would be awesome, then we get to wear hats.

And wear leis. And if we were based in HNL we wouldn’t have to argue about the North Face jackets cause we would never need ‘em...unless you flew the A330 to PEK in the winter.

Excellent points!

I would shed a single tear of joy if I were to never step foot in another White Horse Pike hotel.

Also the new uniforms are going to include North Face jackets but that part doesn’t really matter because we look like a bunch of comical slobs anyways when we are out in public. I mean pilots wearing bright blue pants instead of navy pants while sporting their wrinkly shirts. F/O’s doing walk around while talking on their cell phones, captains wearing their North Face jackets wanting to look like a d-bag corporate pilot. (Yeah dude you look cool with your black jacket and your navy pants) Sorry for that rant sometime I really am embarrassed for the other Spirit pilots I see.

...anyaways I have been hearing that rumor too. I hope it’s not true.

I'm sure you look like a Delta pilot. Maybe you should go there :)

When you use a phrase like “we look like a bunch of comical slobs ANYWAYS....” you prove yourself correct every time.....

Moron.

There are VERY few instances (if ever) where an “S” belongs after the word “anyway.”

You tried twice, INCORRECTLY....

When you decide to have a big-mouth rant, try not to be an idiot- you make the majority of us look bad.

Ok- I apologize... a few too many cocktails pegged my smart-ass meter....

SG1159,

You know how you can tell someone wins an argument? When the other party quits trying to debate you on the topics you are talking about and decide to personally attack you and start name calling. You made zero valid points but instead called me an idiot and turned into a high school english teacher.

I can’t wait to fly A330NEOs to Europe from BWI.

CantStayAway 11-29-2018 10:13 AM

Frontier guy here. I was told by another Frontier pilot that the ACY domicile was closing and a PHL domicile was opening for NK. I guess that was BS but he spoke as if it had already happened.

Prettywhacked1 11-29-2018 10:16 AM

Cool! You must be at Norwegian Air, then

Yeah, that happened as soon as we announced the 330s and the new CDG crew base.

Whoever told you that ACY was closing for a PHL base, smack him in his mouth for spreading such lies. Plus, how can we open PHL when we are clearly opening BWI, since this thread was created on the "good authority" of one of our base chief pilots.

Frontier /Spirit Merger is gonna corner that Mid Atlantic/Northeast market. Trenton Philly and Atlantic City. It is all coming together.
