You're totally right.
I also voted no, so it's obvious that I'm a complete and utter moron who hasn't been an airline pilot for almost 20 years. Sorry to have disturbed you. P.S. I hope I'm wrong. It's not like I want our QOL to erode. It's just that hearing that phrase from our Union Leader does not fill me with sunshine and rainbows. |

I just wondered what being cautiously optimistic about bidding on PBS in April sent you to your quality of life is about to be gone. It sounded like you read cautiously optimistic and just stopped reading and got on APC as fast as possible.
As it was less than 3 minutes long, I was able to resist the immediate urge to jump on the forums and through sheer willpower finished the entire message first. I then thought about what he said. I remembered everything that's happened in my 19 plus years as a 121 pilot. And yes, how many times I've heard that phrase. I remembered what kind of management we have at Spirit. I remembered how perfectly we were manipulated into a "management friendly" Contract '18. And I assumed that we are being led into a very "management friendly" set of PBS work rules. |

Well, I *listened* to it, as it was an audio message. (I guess you weren't paying attention to your emails.)

I have no reason to believe we are being led astray. I have used PBS in the past and having been part of the representation that deal with said PBS, I have a fairly good understanding of how PBS runs and what I believe is or isn't important. I've talked with 2 of the JPWG guys extensively, for months now (they're sick of me I know it), and I am confident we're gonna be just fine. |

I have been wondering why PBS was so important for the company. We will be fine but do think this was a big win for the company. I’m already spending all my free time on PBS when I have better things to do such as sleep.
Of course you're spending time now, you're learning a new system. Line bidding is archaic and it's the past for us now, the anti-pbs mantra needs to go. New contract is here and so is PBS. There's no going back. |

Then you're doing it wrong. Line bidding = hours of sorting (or even 30 minutes) through garbage pre-built lines. A good pbs bid is already done and you just tweak some specific pairings in 10 minutes and you're done.

There's no going back. I’m not trying to dis on PBS at all. But I hear a lot of guys that complain about “spending hours” on working on their lines when all you have to do is use the “sorted lines” option in Flica and it does most of the work for you. Then maybe a little tweaking by you. |
Has there been any mention of when we’re going to see the pbs language with regards to unstacking, threshold limits, how reserve bidding will work for specific RAP periods, etc.?
It’s silly to be doing mock bidding unless these types of details have been worked out. |
