I agree, I’m in the same boat as you, I upgraded quickly, can drive to work, the paychecks are clearing and my QOL is pretty good for the most part. Just saying it isn’t the best place out there and you’re delusional if you think it is. I’m just being realistic.

It’s the best place for me . And it’s not even close . And for this guy that’s all that matters. Everyone is different and that’s fine. This place was the lottery ticket for me. One mans trash is another mans treasure.

For those that are at Spirit and think things suck. Well... I’m coming to you guys very very soon. I’m also coming from a direct competiting LLC of yours in LAS. I’ll give you a hint. It doesn’t have animals on the tail.

My QOL and career/job happiness is about to increase dramatically. The point being is this. Every airline has something pilots complain about. This doesn’t stop even at the Big 3. I have friends at all of them.

The biggest thing is to find a job that FITS you. My last job was terrific for anyone that absolutely hated to spend a night in a hotel. Well guess what? After a few years that got extremely extremely boring for me. Flying the same 8-10 places and not having anywhere near good schedules.

Now I’m excited to fly all over the country, Caribbean, Central America and parts of SA. Once a line holder, to go fly my trip, have a minimum of 4 days off is going to be a god send for me. I have a number of friends here and they love it. A majority of them have no desire to move on.

This career is always about finding the right job. Whether it’s 121, 135, Corp. So for the O.P. figure out what’s important to you. Only you can answer it.

Congrats! When do you start? Also, not sure if you're referring to me, but I never said things suck here. I'm very happy here and have no intention of leaving. But things could be better. Especially in regards to a healthy working relationship with management. But whoever said that one mans trash is another mans treasure when picking an airline is 100% correct.

I think you’re missing the point, I don’t think anyone is saying this is the best place to be. There’s a difference between someone asking “Hey I’m interested in Spirit and it might be a good fit for me can you give me some info” as opposed to “The big 3 might not call so I may have to settle for Spirit, can you give me some info”

I honestly don’t think I’m missing the point. He or she is just being honest. I think lots of people come here because of that very reason stated. If that gets under your skin enough to tell someone that you don’t want him or her here because he or she had their sights set on a legacy and it may not pan out then that’s just crazy. The reality is Spirit isn’t everyone’s first choice of career destinations and many just ended up here for one reason or another, a few move on to bigger and better but most just get comfortable and realize it’s a good place to work, a stable paycheck, and stay. Maybe you’re upset at the tone of the question but I didn’t take anything from it.

There’s nothing wrong with coming here and finding out it’s not a good fit and move on. It doesn’t bother me, but I can see why the original post can offend some of us.

I guess I can see what you’re saying but man, we work for spirit, isn’t their skin already thick enough to not take offense to these things? If anything guys and gals that come here and leave give us more leverage against management when negotiations start up again.
