Only at Spirit does another uniform jacket option get people fired up. It’s a nice option for people who don’t like the leather coat and don’t want to bring an extra jacket in the bag. If you don’t like it or think it’s too expensive then don’t wear it. Personally I think the blazer looks the best but the Karbon looks way better than the tired looking leather. But either way, you do you. It’s nice to have options...

Ya unless you commute and have a six day stretch that’s not commutable on both ends which happens literally all the time

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I would hate for the company to force us to that being the only approved jacket. |
Anyone know how true to size these fit? Example, I got a northface in L, fits great. Karbon run the same or a bit smaller/larger?

Because as a commuter it’s nice not having to lug around a separate jacket that you may only need for one cold overnight. I have the leather and I hate it. It doesn’t fit right and looks ridiculous unless you’re planning on flying something with an open cockpit. The blazer is fine but you can’t exactly take the epaulets off and go grab dinner with it on an overnight and it’s basically worthless if it’s actually cold outside. With either the leather or the blazer you have to stuff another jacket into your bag. It’s not about how it looks it’s about convenience and lightening up your bag.

Still haven’t seen a communication on this jacket or if epaulets are to be worn with it.

Honest question. Do WN pilots have another option other than the Karbon jacket? I have only seen WN pilots wear those Karbon jackets this winter and nothing else. At all.
I would hate for the company to force us to that being the only approved jacket. I commute on them and I see blazers and leather jackets. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have a puffer down jacket in my bag that squished down to the size of two fists. It’s great for not having to wear the leather on overnights and good for 60 to sub zero temps.
That’s great until your 4 day in February has one overnight in Minneapolis then the rest in Florida. Now I’m stuck dragging the giant heavy leather jacket around on the top of my bag for 3 days in Florida, not to mention shoving it into overhead bins on both my commutes. But to each their own, if you like the leather jacket and it works for you then that’s great. Keep at it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk ALPA should have had input (maybe they did but once again didn’t inform anyone) into the choices. Seriously. Would it be so hard to put together 5-10 outfits that the company approved and let the pilots choose the final ones. |
