I didn't sign up for a payroll deduct nor do I need it. BTW I inserted a payment form when I ordered the jacket. that's what make it so strange.

If I remember correctly from a conversation I had with someone briefed on the uniform discussions with management is that the compromise to get the light shell jacket is that we’ll be wearing wings on our shirts (requested by Ted) and possibly yellow stripes on our epaulets to go along with black pants from a high quality vendor.
That’s my point. Crickets from the union. Should have kept us up on what’s being considered and where they are with the process and choices. That would have allowed us to express our preferences. Just like every other airline. Not suggesting we’d have some veto power. But they would know what we wanted. Not this POS Members Only retread.

I would hate for the company to force us to that being the only approved jacket.
We have the Karbon jacket, leather and blazer at WN. I have all three and prefer the leather for colder weather and the blazer when it’s mild. I don’t like the Karbon at all. It fits me kind of weird, and I don’t feel as professional wearing it. Most here wear the leather.

I keep a warm but packable pullover in my bag for overnights

That’s not true. I see at least 60/40 Karbon vs Leather here at WN. Oh, and BTW we had this exact same b**** fest on the WN forums about it looking unprofessional and nobody was going to order it much less wear it. I see more and more show up every trip and it seems by far the go to option for most of our pilots. I can pack it in my suitcase and don’t have to drape it over my rollerboard while walking through the Airport if it isn’t needed at the time. Not something that’s possible with the Leather and not practical for the Blazer.

Read the bold. The Karbon without the liner is nowhere near as warm as the leather

So get it with the liner, problem solved. Either way, you can’t deny that it’ll be much more efficient than the leather for its size and weight.

I absolutely agree. Once the company reimburses for this vs the blazer, I will definitely be getting it. But not out of my own pocket.
