PBS bids are live!

Just wanted to see how we feel about the new pairings under the new rigs.

MelloYelloPilot 05-07-2019 08:45 AM

I bid 48% in MCO and looks like I’ll be on reserve along with 10 people senior to me.

YourMom 05-07-2019 11:01 AM

Are there any reduced lower limit lines or am I missing where that info is?

Omniscient 05-07-2019 11:11 AM

Bottom of the bid pack will have an anticipated number like 0-2

Skyehog 05-07-2019 11:12 AM

It's up to the company if they want to build lower limit lines.

Sounds like a victim of overstaffing a base for anticipated growth ie. not enough flying yet for pilots, lots of reserve lines.

DFW, for example, is around 75% seniority to hold a line based on anticipated lines and pilots

BeechedJet 05-07-2019 02:25 PM

I’m just glad I had all that practice months ago. Totally remember how to do all the stuff.

Acehole 05-07-2019 03:19 PM

If you read the email, they want us to bid in flica also. You know, just in case they totally F this up...Like they do everything else around here that has anything to do with any type of software. Recurrent is SO much fun!

Ha! But guys didn’t want to go to fll for ground school (5 day trip)!and drink beer with their friends. Plus no jepp updates! Don’t forget the 100+ hours of credit and two 4’days being dropped....

Because we surely would have kept that in the new contract. Let me guess, “we gave in too easy and the company would have given us this”. And everyone got 2 4 days dropped, right?

And no, I want nothing to do with FLL in any manner, even “drinking beer with buddies”

What are you looking at? MCO shows 82 bidders with 69 lines and only 13 total reserve lines.

Oh yeah, dislike FLL, but those were great ground schools!

Change was inevitable though, just like the days of GH booking hotels for Ned.

Thanks you made my day. The original memo in the bid packet said 75 bidders 38 lines.

Fordmun 05-08-2019 08:37 AM

Is there more lines with pbs?

In my base, 12 more hard lines with PBS vs the bid package for line bidding.

There really just aren't a REL lines. In fact in my base there will be 1 more on Reserve than normal line bidding.

I hear you guys are getting sent all over the system to cover trips is this correct? IE lots of DHing! Someone please correct me if I'm wrong the PBS system doesn't have the new rigs only the 5 hrs AVERAGE day is loaded. That's the purpose of the meeting on the 25th. Excuse me if I missed one of the 50 emails I receive from the Company and ALPA daily.

New rigs are active in PBS for June. 5 hr min per duty period, 5 hour/24+ hr layover, 3.5:1 trip rig, and 2:1 duty rig. Meeting on the 25th concerns the rigs and how they apply to reschedules.

Cool story bro....that’s from the company, not the Union.

While we are at it, those Bendo emails are not union emails either

Deathwish 05-08-2019 10:48 PM

Haven’t had a single email from our Mec since March.

I received an email from the MEC on the 7th about PBS. Now ALPA is texting me too.

Are you the guy using vertical speed instead of managed on rnav arrivals?

OPDES for literally everything.

If that was pointed at me, HELL NO! I prefer to fly the AC the way it was designed to do managed decent. The Vert Speed thing is an RJ Collins Proline bad habit. FLC sucks so the RJ guys learned to use the Vert Speed so the AC doesn't seek. IMHO

OPDEC LOL !!!

symbian simian 06-14-2019 09:28 AM

July awards are out....

PRO:
Mid level bidder, 17 days off, 76.1hr credit, 250 TAFB, don't have to trade a single trip to make schedule work for family life (before PBS would need to change half my sched regularly).

CON:
More flight credit, only 1 hour of rig (line bidding was normally around 15hr of soft pay), almost every red-eye has a leg before +1 red-eye?). Still not sure how to bid....

LloydBraun 06-14-2019 05:04 PM

36% in base. 17 days off 75 hrs. Asked for 10 specific days off and got them all. And I did not waive the 4 days off. Not sure where the cutoff is on guys getting crap lines but looking out my window I’m happy.

Yup, my two best schedules so far have been the last 2 PBS bids. 85 hours with 15 off and a week off over the 4th of July. 28% in base

Lobaeux 06-15-2019 04:07 AM

I got exactly what I asked for which isn’t exactly what I wanted (all my fault, I’ll get better at bidding), don’t have to trade out any trips, probably will because of layovers.
86 hours, 15 days off, no redeyes, easy trips. A couple of DHs.

Flightcap 06-15-2019 09:47 AM

82% in base, had 27 hours of pre awarded credit for training. Got a line that was built out of coverage awards (preempting any bid preferences.) 17 days off, 74 hours credit.

My name is Jose Jimenez.

Plane Coffee

flyingpuma1 06-15-2019 01:40 PM

I only had to waive down to two days off between pairings instead of one like last month to get a line so I guess that’s better.....

Wanting rsv with all weekends and the 4th off got me a line working all weekends and the 4th. Knowing I could probably hold all weekends off gave me confidence to add the 4th without adding another rsv bid group without it. Then all my “backup” hard line bid groups I put below rsv didn’t hit. I just assumed I’d get whatever I wanted on rsv per usual. Let the dropping begin. I don’t know how you guys work a month of 4 days.
