Emerald Coast or Cage Consulting
Which one did you use? and why?
thanks, asking for a friend :) |
Neither. Just researched the company, walked them through my resume, answered a few scenario based questions and then chit chatted about my hobbies. I used emerald coast a couple years back at a different company and didn't get the job. I think I came across as too scripted. Long story short, just be yourself.

I used emerald coast this year, however I don’t think it’s really needed. The interview is very straight forward and relaxed. Also pretty short.
EC is a great service though. Especially if you aren’t confident in your interview skills. |
They want to meet Shenzi105 not Emerald Coast or Cage. Be yourself and be sure to drive home “Why Spirit?”

I listened to Emerald Coast tapes and it had some good info. I took some notes, tried to break down the questions and have some stories ready to go. I also prepared in front of mirror and recorded myself giving some answers. I may not have been up to legacy standards but it gave me some confidence and I definitely felt over prepared. Got the job so I guess it worked.

for spirit neither is needed, at all, for the interview. I got an application review and that really helped clean up my actual app. Beyond that, Spirit was probably the most straightforward interview I’ve ever done... inside of aviation or out. They honestly just want to know who you are... not if you can determine if you need alternate missed approach procedures if the ILS DME is out of service, or how you’d handle a no win scenario.
Here is the $50 interview prep for NK... Play the games. Be social with other interviewees. Don’t say spirit will be a good stepping stone airline. TO ANYONE! Nail the “why Spirit” question. That’s it. I accept vinmo and PayPal. |

Regardless of what you feel about their services, they have served many pilot well in achieving a job. Not every airline is "laid back, take your jacket off" like Spirit with their interview process. Emerald Coast will even refund your money if you dont get the job. They offer a service and it serves many well who choose to seek their services, not everything is a scam. |
At a minimum read this book!
It was good for me many years ago in its first edition and still valid today. Noticed last edition published 2002. Airline Pilot Interviews: How You Can Succeed in Getting Hired by Irv Jasinski
