Major Announcement
 

Looks like a major announcement is planned for late this week. I was just in recurrent in FLL and word got out to some of the instructing staff and Spirit will be making a partnership announcement with Sling TV.

Sling will pay Spirit as an advertising modicum and the Sling TV logo will be added somewhere on the lower front of the fuselage in addition to the overhead bins, much like The D ads that were displayed before. It is my understanding that Sling has a stake in our internet provider and the sell push will come from the FA's selling Sling for pax to use on their handheld devices once the internet install is complete. I'm not sure if they will continue to push the Spirit Master Card once this goes live.

In semi interesting news the former HA CEO joined the Spirit BOD.

Was hoping for a different announcement

They’ve been alluding to a newly refreshed rewards program in the conference calls with regards to the credit cards, so I don’t see those going away. Perhaps this will be tied into it?

Honestly, I’m more curious about the board member changes. Looks as though we are gearing up for a firing(TC) or major expansion/merger. Who knows!

Oh. I thought it was going to be about getting rid of the mini chairs in the back of the plane. Just flew on Spirit the other day and was shocked at how small those seats were.
