Spirit had a booth at NGPA earlier this year, I’m guessing they will again at the next one. They host a job fair every year in Palm Springs, the next one is in February. If you look at their website they should be posting information soon about which companies will be attending. SF (our lead recruiter) was there and anyone who wanted was able to get some very good facetime with her.

I saw them at OBAP in August. Hired in September. Started in October.

What would you recommend as far as getting to know some Spirit pilots? Is there a job fair in particular you would say I should definitely go to?

Honestly with the amount of hiring we will be doing over the next 5 years, along with increased Legacy hiring, Spirit will be coming to your house to offer you a job. We have lots of planes coming but competition to get people to fly them is going to increase; especially when we are trying to get so many a year.

Now if an age 67 happened, that’s an entirely different direction.

Pretty sure they want people without degrees because that means it will be harder for you to leave (for a legacy).

Plenty of pilots here with degrees too. New contract, large aircraft orders......well who wants to leave? Moral is the best I’ve seen at any airline. I think Spirit just wants good people and good pilots. Degree or no degree, it doesn’t matter.

Come on now, don’t ruin the negative conversation with positive outlook. If anyone on here wants to know what Spirit is really like just talk to a random Spirit pilot you run into at the airport. You will find far more praise than resentment.

This is precisely what I did when I chose to three-leg it to and from my interview session. Picked their brains, learned a lot about it. Having been hired by multiple airlines simultaneously (well nearly), it was talking to crews F2F that drew me over...aaaaand queue the sarcasm. GO!
