There’s going to be a vote on the 4 days-off pilot optional waiver. As far as the ability of bidding long stretches of days off, this waiver greatly enhances your chances. As a matter of fact, I’ve been seeing several pilots bidding that way, sometimes getting 10+ days off in a row. Regardless of your awarded line, you can always manipulate your schedule in daily open time.
You should consider how many hours you need to credit a month. If money is not an issue, you could put 2 4-day trips back to back. Maybe you’ll need a day off in between, but a stretch of 8-9 days of work will credit you a min of 40hrs and a max of 50hrs (maybe 52 if you’re lucky to grab those juicy 26hr 4-day Tripp’s) Our schedules are super flexible as long as you’re a line holder. Now, reserve it’s a different story. I don’t see how could you commute internationally. Heck, even domestic would suck. |
I heard the vote already took place and the option to waive is here to stay.

It better be. There is no point in not having the option. I’ve had to use it because NavBlue will look at the previous month and if you ended with 2 days off, it will default with the first 2 days off of the next month. Depending on this, you can get screwed out of the days off you need since it sticks to this pattern. This is especially true when on reserve and it builds its 6on 4 off.

Incorrect. That’s not how the four day off language works. If you want 4 days off but would like to work the first of the month with only two off at then end of the month prior you don’t necessarily have to waive. Transition period doesn’t apply
I tell you though that email made it seem like PBS can really screw you out of your own seniority if you don’t have a PhD in how the system works. Made me miss hard lines in holiday months. |

I’m assuming it doesn’t have to honor it for unstacking though in the first week of the month because I know I’ve been unstacked out of 4 days off.
If I understand the email correctly it sounds like PBS does take into account the last week in the previous bid period to honor the CBA required 4-days off. When you were unstacked did you waive the 4-day requirement? |
