I agree. You want to sit in traffic for an hour and a half each way be my guest. Take a cab or the train. I love rosemont. The double tree is starting to show its age admittedly but there are newer or renovated options in the area. Over 20-40 years after you’ve seen it a couple times what is the draw to sit in traffic to downtown Chicago when you can’t even leave to hotel half the year because it’s stupid cold.
LGA was different because there was nothing next to the Spring Hill. The drive to manhattan makes me want to slit my wrists though. New hotel is nice.
BOS on the other hand- all layovers should be at the Park Plaza. Even trade for ORD

Rosemont is as much of a “metropolitan area” and Queens was for our NY long stay finally was straightened out. You’re view of “once you seen it a few times” reminds me why most AA hotels are in the suburbs by a shopping mall. If nothing else, get out an walk around. It’s not always “stupid cold”. We don’t stay at the MSP short all year because it’s “stupid cold,” or DTW.

Ah, the reason we gave up the 15 hour long stay for the short stay, guys complaining about a chartered private vehicle and rather enjoy waiting on a hotel shuttle that “runs on the 20s”.

MSP long isn’t doesn’t take that long to get to btw. Plus they have the skywalk in winter. Summer it’s a great city.
DTW again not that far but I don’t leave the hotel in winter.

That's pretty much exactly what I wrote on mine. Name brand Hilton/Westin/Marriott which have better quality rooms with less noise, more functional gyms, and just nicer overall since we are doing so many of these now.

Sure it's a nice hotel, no argument there, but it's just too far from everything. The drive is nearly an hour thru all of cali to get there and if you want to go out then you have to get back in a taxi for another 30 minutes. There are nice brand name hotels downtown near the river, way closer to the airport and everything else (nightlife, restaurants, etc). American even stays downtown.
