At least for the majority of hotels, if not Rosemont.

The language from 16:45 to 13:45 (18:00 to 15:00) was a huge give away. Not the Unions fault. Gotta find compromises when only 10% of the pilot group can locate a picketing event.

Fact!

Correct me if im wrong, but I remember hearing at a road show that the company did NOT push for the 18 hour this last contract, it was the union that presented it, as a way to appease the crowd who always complains about the 2 hotels we have with longer drives; LAX and IAH. So we threw the baby out with the bath water...and they brought in 18 hours.

I asked a hotel committee member after this passed why we allowed 18 and they too confirmed it wasn't the company wanting this, it was from certain people on the hotel committee (based on feedback) and some negotiating members who too did not like long drives. This member told me he hates that we went to 18 and now will be forced to negotiate it back next round to a "catch weight" time between the old 15 and new 18.

Seriously though, take the hotel survey. Then you can at least say that you voiced your concerns ahead of time when you call out fatigued for dealing with all of these shenanigans.

“Complimentary breakfast is from 6:30 to 9:30!”

”My shuttle is at 4:30. 😐”

“ok sir, don’t worry. We will have a go bag for you with an apple, sugar concentrate juice, and a muffin that can withstand a nuclear apocalypse”.

Personally speaking warm milk and a bagel that moonlights as a jack stand is my favorite.

I got my W-2 today and it’s not even the last day of January and I’m so mad everything worked out like it’s supposed to I think I’ll start a new thread to gripe about hotels or something.

IAH short is hilarious. I can see the short hotel from where we park the airplane yet it takes longer to go the half mile down JFK blvd than it does to get to the long stay hotel in 5 o clock traffic.

Location doesn’t have to dictate the type of transportation provided or the type of hotel but we have let it.

As far as I’m concerned all overnights should be premium hotels with a car service as transportation. Short layover should be near the airport and long in a metropolitan area within a 30min drive. They can take their free breakfast and shove it. Grab and go should be replaced with $15 cash from the hotel front desk for early departures.

A 30 min drive is often not enough to get to a metro area, unless you like Rosemont.

Don’t mind Qotsa, he thinks geographical boundaries should be redrawn and airports moved in order to satisfy his hotel requirements.

Most of my expense for a taxi comes from IAH short.

Bump. Anyone else not get their W-2 this year? Doesn’t the company have to pay a fine to the govt if they don’t have them out by today? $60 for each employee or something like that.

Going downtown in ord for the next 20+ years would be miserable. BOS Long is probably one of the best in the system and it doesn’t take an hour and a half to get there in mind numbing stop and go traffic while the driver floors it and then slams the breaks constantly. And if there’s no traffic it’s the Daytona 500. If I’ve told that guy in BWI slow the hell down once I’ve done it 1000 times.

MSP long isn’t doesn’t take that long to get to btw. Plus they have the skywalk in winter. Summer it’s a great city.

DTW again not that far but I don’t leave the hotel in winter.

I can't tell if this is serious? The Boston long is the worst hotel in the system, long or short. It's in a great location but the hotel itself is horrible.

Maybe because you’re responding to posts before Covid.

I keep hearing this. What exactly is your gripe with the BOS long? So many worse imo. I agree the short is a diaper fire, all of them.

Most of the hotels we stay at have bathrooms bigger than those rooms, there literally isn’t a counter in the bathroom to put your supplies on, you have to get on your hands and knees to use the coffee maker. No fridge, no microwave, and if they bring you one it takes up the three feet of floor space you had left. And then there’s the sandpaper they use for sheets.
