Internal Recommendations

Bottom line up front: what weight do internal recommendations have at Spirit?

Obviously they have value, but how has Spirit historically looked at internal recs? At some airlines, they trigger app reviews, at others, they are essentially silver bullets that guarantee getting moved to the interview stack, etc. Obviously quality matters over quantity, but quantity sure helps, too. On the note of quantity, has there historically been a certain number of internal recs that they’re looking for?

In light of there not being any hiring events, job fairs, or Meet the Chiefs events in nearly a year, I highly suspect pre-COVID interest and/or internal recommendations are going to be key going forward.

They have always been huge.

Me personally, when I applied I heard nothing. Had a friend. working here send Sandi my "stuff," received the packet the next day. Granted this was a while ago but I still think internal recommendations are huge. This isnt a legacy carrier that weighs GPA, volunteer work, WIA awards, etc. What has made the pilot group so great is they have always used referrals as a major hiring tool.

I had 8 internal referrals, and I definitely think that helped.

I had a few internal recs, I firmly believe that’s how I got the invite. I never went to MTC event or attended job fair.

I had zero and still got hired, recs won’t get you the job but they definitely don’t hurt.

My experience from late 2018- I didn’t know anyone in Spirit. Didn’t even have an app in. Went to a job fair and had the call 12 hours after I applied.

I had zero and took me months to get an interview even after attending a MTC.

Every person I gave a rec to pre covid was offered an interview. Rec's have always gone a long way here.

I added an employee referral on the application. Is there another way to submit a recommendation?

The employee needs to email your resume and ROC in from their company email.
