Of course I did watch it. The reason I’m mentioning it is because it looks like going down from 24 to 20 upgrades is not a big deal. But before they had planned 32 upgrades. So going down to 20 is a substantial slow down in upgrades.

very substantial slow down and I’m shocked it isn’t being talked about more (yet.) Can’t keep CoPilots so can’t upgrade as you take away from the ranks of FO’s. But as Miller said CFI’s are on the way to the right seat so it shouldn’t be too long.
maybe Spirit can open a BOG, SAL, PTY, LIM and/or SJO base and have local pilots start trips out of those cities. That will attract more pilots from Central/South America and we can headhunt pilots from Avianca, Copa, and LAN Peru. we can even go Great Lakes style and have FO’s who have their 1500 do their training and take their ATP check ride in the aircraft at 2AM while it RON at that station. |

Some Colombian flight attendants would be a very welcome addition..

Does anyone know what attrition looks like right now at Frontier, JetBlue, etc? Curious.

Obviously we’re fat on CAs right now and short on FOs. They want to balance that first. So reduced upgrades for the next 6-7 months.

If only there were some other part of the attrition equation the company could address. Perhaps even with an MOU or some other alphabet soup term prior to agreeing to a new contract in 4 years.
