Reason for LASCommuters to Fear New Day Trips
 

Uhh yeah….I think the title says (asks) it all…..thanks for your thoughts!

Constantly in and out of crashpads or hotels when you had a commutable 4 day previously for starters. Which will cost you money. Not to mention the gas prices if you commute from surrounding communities. Like in DFW I drive 40 min one way. 60 miles a day if we do predominately out and backs. I wouldn’t mind 3 day trips though but the credit just sucks.

Supposedly still going to be 50% 4 days in the system just doing out and back out of non-domiciles. Vegas may have a higher percentage as the 1-2 day trips will be in FL domiciles.

Day trips go fairly senior at f9 in las. I can’t hold many at 40ish%.

And even our “turns” are still 2-3 day trips.

We have always been heavy on 3-4 day trips, so it's nice to see some variety. For every one pilot on here complaining about in domicile turns (which is mainly Florida bases per the townhall), there are ten others living in base who will be all over them because their seniority previously could not hold them.

Lots of guys live in base and there’s a metric butt-ton of red-eyes.

Just get mentally prepared for a lot of four days that are IAH IAH IAH or LBE LBE LBE or MCI MCI MCI.

If it’s the long MCI, I’d take it!

Makes it easy to pack for the weather.
