Before you leave

If y'all would be so kind to bid out of DFW/DTW/ORD/ACY before you leave that would mean a lot to many New Hires/Captain Upgrades trying to get to these bases. This goes for FOs and Captains. I wish you all the best in your retirement/new position but please leave the slot open for those that are hopeful B6 will keep from shrinking the base and those that would rather not commute. IAH will help the DFW guys but help your coworkers with one last act of selflessness.

considering the bid runs two months in advance, I doubt people who are leaving with CJOs are going to do that for you.

So you put in your notice on August 20, you can still bid. If you're about to retire you can bid. I'd guess those With 'C'JOs can think ahead enough to throw in a vacancy bid before they leave.

It’s a great idea, but it won’t happen. I just don’t see any pilot volunteering to give up their base, 2 months before leaving, and risk a delayed class date with their new airline, a canceled class date, a revoked job offer, etc

Didn’t bendo say in the town hall the software issue is figured out and they’re going to run the displacements soon?

MCDUmanipulator 08-01-2022 07:15 AM

Yeah this is pointless. Displacement bids coming soon.

CincoDeMayo 08-01-2022 07:21 AM

They did mention IAH by end of the year. If this displacement happens 9/20, that will be a 12/1 effective date. Curious if it would be more effective to run a displacement involving a bunch of DFW CAs at the same time you run a IAH vacancy. Might be quite a few DFW guys who want IAH, minimizing the need from displacing from the bottom in DFW.

Also, if you're retiring before the effective date, please don't bid into ATL and take a spot away from another pilot wishing to bid in. What a douche...

Or the other way of looking at it…it was done so they wouldn’t take a CA slot away in ACY and someone who’s been waiting months or years in ACY to hold that slot could get it. He was taking care of his own. Far from being a douche.

There will be plenty more ATL slots. Get over it.
