Quote: This is your problem though. If it takes 6 months to a year to get a new deal (presumably it would after recalls), and you end up getting that deal you want, it’s exactly what you would have had with a year without pay raises.
So be it. This thing is designed to help attract and retain FO's. It's terrible for the Captains comparatively speaking. Send it back. If the company is serious about running a real airline, they can pay appropriately in line with what kind of pay rates we can demand in this hiring climate.

you may not be wrong but if they give us more money that doesn’t help to curb attrition than what’s the point of offering us more money in the first place? Make this a place that people want to come and stay or don’t.

That just means we keep leverage for further negotiations. Remember this whole thing was supposed to be a 2 year stopgap deal prior to a JCBA in the first place, because it takes time to negotiate more and time is money. At least, that’s what we told the negotiating committee in our surveys a few months ago.

Best thing I’m seeing is no more LCA bidding out of seniority.

Bringing our A game to JetBlue apparently.

12-year captains are making Alaska rates. If you think you’re going to get to delta rates before a JCBA negotiation begins, good luck.

And now the FO's basically make what JB FO's have been making since 2018.....This will do less than nothing on fixing attrition.

It's trash.

If you all really think NK and JB management would give you the rates they are targeting in the JCBA now instead of waiting for actual JCBA negotiations. If you think NK management gives a flying … if the rates are rejected they will keep rates as rates are and just wait and push to DOJ with a chapter 11 airline skeleton (better argument to DOJ anyways) of an airline going concern merger on the eve of a near closure airline and negotiate the JCBA at that point you are fools. You all had absolute leverage to get higher rates to try to retain talent but it what world would JB management want you to have DL rates BEFORE almost immediately being forced into JCBA negations why not let it dry up on the vine and try to absorb what is left in 2 years?

Quote: I’m upset on your guys’ behalf. MEC’s at every company should be hitting home runs; a rising tide and all. These new rates are dog**** Seriously, in this environment, the best they could do is “meh?”
Meh, indeed. I'd really like to know what the company offered a few weeks ago when the email was sent out saying "large economic disparities exist." Who in their right mind is willing to take the pay cut by leaving their regional of choice to go on the same problematic training pay (albeit $750 more). Seems like there is still a disconnect between management and what they think is attractive not only for retention, but for recruitment. Embarrassing.

What do you think is the percentage of 12 year captains here at Spirit is? Who cares that they are making Alaska rates by year 12. Everyone else gets screwed and your fine with that? We have a very young/jr group here. Not only does it screw us, but sets a precedence industry wide. We have to vote this nonsense down and send a message that we aren't 2nd rate pilots.

Like I said, there’s lots of doom and gloom on here, always. I bet it passes with 60% or more.
