My expectation was rates a bit better than this, plus improvements to our profit sharing plan, you know, like all my peers. The snap-up helps with the rates, for sure, and the bonus helps with the profit sharing, at least for the next two years. But after that it's big losses relative to my peers.
It will take some time, but hopefully eventually you will stop seeing yourself as Mr. Discount Pilot Guy. As you can see from our snap-up, JB pilots intend to be in the hunt with the top 4-5 passenger airlines, although admittedly they are taking a couple years to get there fully'ish. What a time to be a PILOT. |

Untill then I feel for you walking down the terminal walking past a Delta or United pilot and know that your Peni…I mean profit sharing doesn’t measure up.
And the ones who aren’t, which is a growing majority, they understand and act like we’re all in this together, because we are. Thankfully the miserable ones are retiring in droves… But maybe we can get those sweet jackets in our JCBA? |

Speak for yourself. I’ve never felt insecure around legacy guys; a huge number of them are horribly miserable, unpleasant people. I wouldn’t ever trade my life for theirs.

Cheapest Cadillac Sedan is about $40,000. Narrowbody captains used to have that equivalent salary per month. We should be making around $480 per hour.

Most very high earners bring an incredible amount of ego to their negotiations. It’s time we start acting the same. Airline pilots are trained to be rational thinkers and risk averse. It’s time we check that at the door because it’s being taken advantage of |
