Not to say this NEVER happens at other airlines but I’m sure not going to miss this stuff when we are JetBlue. ATL to PHL on spirit you may assume this will happen. What an embarrassment.

Feeling the same way. Very sad that humans feel they’re entitled to behave this way.

Yup, this one got to me. Had enough of this ghetto ass behavior.

Walmart.

Waffle House.

Circle K.

Spirit.

NASCAR.

WWE.

Never a dull moment.

Remember, its those passengers that the current administration is trying to ensure can still continue to fly for rock bottom fares. Our merger is being held up so a pregnant drunk woman can fly from ATL to PHL for $20, and get to rumble with the gate agent for no extra charge.

By the way, I feel for a lot of our gate agents but we are hiring a ton of "ratchet" agents. Isnt that the term, ratchet?

I have a feeling the lawyers are well aware of this. I think the government thinks their case is better than it actually is. Shouldn’t be a hard time beating the DOJ.

DOT is a different story

Exactly

We need this. America needs this.

I watched this at the bar tonight while sipping on a cold one with a friend. This is quality entertainment that cannot be easily matched, if even at all.

Why would I thumb through staged reels on the gram when I can watch real people brawling with our gate agents over paying $60 for a carry on?

I feel like the agent may have a case against the company for not providing adequate security. Usually there is ATL PD at our gates. (Sad isn’t it?) Where were they? Was it a cost cutting measure?

Popeyes?

..

BusBoi 05-05-2023 09:10 AM

JetBlue has a blue basic fare that's sometimes even cheaper than Spirit, so we may still see some of these types.

Im confused though, to me it looks like the gate agent was non reving? Sweat pants and sandals? Disregard, I don't know, maybe hanging out.

Can't stand this mentality. Is why everyone is feeling like a victim in our society all the time and everyone is sue happy looking for their pay-day! Always need to point the finger when something bad happens. Its called life! $hit happens! Should flight attendants sue the company if they were to be attacked as well if we don't have an air marshall on every flight as well?! Where does it end??!!

Some days I feel like a victim. Sometimes bad things happen to me. But I do not let it bug me. I smile and move on. That is called being the adult in the room.

I guess my comments are, “Grow up” and “Don’t be offended by most things.”

Youre right. However we already know that ATL to PHL is going to full of passengers that don’t know how to act in public and will use violence in the face of adversity. Spirit has some some responsibility to keep an employee safe given those elevated risks. Spirit creates those risks by flying between those two cities and marketing mostly to their most volitile citizens.

This is why you go to Spirit for the type rating and flight time, then leave for the big 3. I don’t understand why anyone would want to be a lifer flying these people around daily.

It’s about percentages. Go fly in the bag of us for a week and then go fly in the back of a legacy for a week. It’s noticeable. Their passengers generally dress better, smell better, and of course act better. In general

that’s you’re only response to defend spirit. “Must be sipping on some kool aid from another airline.”

just because some of us are realists about what spirit is about doesn’t mean we’re fed propaganda. Get outside your bubble and maybe you’ll see what this airline really is.

Someone needs to be a realist about the industry they’ve chosen to work in. Get over it. If you decide to work at AA, UA DL or anyone else…… Your **** will still stink!!!

That was the nice thing about a lot of spending years at the regional level; you learn there is no use trying to “fix” the issues, nobody higher up really cares what your opinion is, and you’re better off not stressing and just work the contract and that’s it.

Then once you get to a major/legacy and see things still have issues, you remember your training from the regionals, and that’s how you make it until 65 without taking medical leave for high blood pressure.

Anyone who dismisses the benefits of being able to drop, without being dependent of a trade board, really has no idea of the benefits of what we have. Jblu guys, do you know why our trade boards are basically empty on Flica? Because we don’t need them.

Thankfully any JCBA AIP or TA will have to be agreed to by a JNC and JMEC, before ever getting to the pilots. Checks and balances.

I’m sure it’s great for you guys. The conversation around it is hilarious. Like you’re giving up hotel rooms on overnights.

overrated. If you can get out of a trip via a drop or a trade board who cares how you do it. How about just getting more pto time and anytime you don’t wanna work just call in. If jb trade boards are active and people actually pick up does it actually matter.

With our CBA language the grid and dropping ability is pretty darn consistent. Trade boards are not. At some point in every month my schedule has “0” trips in it and I rebuild. If I depended on a trade board that wouldn’t be possible.

I just work the trips I’m assigned. I bid for what I want and while I don’t always get what I want if I can’t swap a trip with something else I’d prefer to do or I truly need a day off I didn’t get in the bid I just call out sick for that trip. The over reliance on drop to 0 is just astounding. There’s so many ways to get the schedule you want or have a day off without needing to drop to 0. I’m not saying drop to 0 isn’t useful. But it’s just overrated when there’s many other means of getting the same outcome.

The benefit of drop to 0 isn’t just dropping all of your trips for the month. The benefit is the grid system with the ability to drop trips within 2 days. The flexibility is amazing and is definitely something we shouldn’t give up in a JCBA. The ball is in our court so why give up anything?

You think guys will be jumping to pick up double red eye jungle turn 4 days on trade boards? Nah, I'll just drop it and be done with it.

Here is the difference: "I got my schedule, im going to drop this 3 day trip so I can take a trip" vs "I got my schedule, ill post it on the trade board, of someone wants my double jungle turn redeye, I can go on that trip"

And sure, im all for more PTO, doesnt mean im giving up industry leading drop provisions for it. I'll take both, thanks.
