What are the chances this thing actually starts on the 30th and doesn’t push again.

who knows. But to correct a previous post; Judge Young said he felt he had an “obligation” to try to decide the case by end of the year. Maybe semantics but that’s what he said

Judge isn’t just sitting at home. He granted summary judgement to some stupid ass passengers who are suing the merger because they fly NK and feel they will be harmed. The judge, Young, found that their case has standing and will be heard

he more importantly found that flyers Gabriel Garavanian and Timothy Niebor fly Spirit "regularly," meaning they have standing to bring antitrust claims based on assertions that the deal will reduce competition”

It was jetBlue who filed the motion for a summary judgement to dismiss the case. The judge didn't "grant" a summary judgement for those two plantiffs, he found that 23 of the 25 plaintiffs did NOT have standing for a case and removed them from the suit. The two remaining plantiffs can still pursue the case, but the judge's ruling was more in jetBlue's favor than the stupid ass passengers' favor.

They are professional platintiffs, most of them are travel agents and were also signed on with Fjord and others in previous merger lawsuits. Most likely they are hoping the merger gets approved and B6 will offer some settlement to make them go away vs spend money litigating it. Very common tactics in the periphery of big money moving around.
