Most recent news I heard was that the board said they were willing to entertain any offer before the DOJ approves it.

Exactly, this is why i'm skeptical of all the merger talk that has sprouted up since ours was shot down. That case drew a line in the sand in no unclear terms; carriers need to be happy with their current market share and organic growth for the time being. The only airlines I could see getting scooped up are airlines that purposely stay away from everyone else like Breeze and Avelo.

As the person below your post pointed out, it appears they are open to other offers. I think this was a direct invitation to WN but shall see. I’m just a pilot willing to make speculative posts 🤣

Don’t get me wrong, I am not sure it would get through the DOJ, I am just speculating that it’s possible and arguably the best option for WN.

Those letters will come out in 3 months. Bankruptcy, and no more new airplanes coming is my guess. But who knows, it’s just a guess.

the issue I have is, you’ve literally be saying bankruptcy and furloughs are around the corner since October. I just don’t buy that they would continue pay pilots if they knew they were going to end up furloughing them. At least send warn letters, they could send the letters to get ready df then not furlough if things changed. I just don’t buy it. Hope I’m right but time will tell

I thought the notices were going to come out the week we binned the appeal. Seemed like the most logical outcome but now I’m not so sure…

They’re solvent and have no reason to declare bankruptcy right now. In a couple of years, if things don’t change, sure. They have time to right the ship and bankruptcy isn’t close to happening.
