To get people to fly on us we have to sell tickets at a loss and hope to make it up scamming them with fees later. It’s not happening. Planes are fulliah but still not profitable. We need more demand so we can raise prices. Except when we raise prices demand goes down when you sell a garbage product. You have to make it up in customer service like southwest does. We think we can yell at people and have them waiting a half hour for a gate and an hour for their bags. Not going to work.

The model is flawed. You need to have a diverse product line like the legacies or be extremely efficient and heavy on customer service We don’t check any of those boxes. They’ve had 5 years now to tack and they’ve done nothing but blame outside circumstances |

I don’t think so. We have upped our utilization back to about 13hrs which is where it was during the profitable days. This Pratt thing makes no difference now that they have a settlement. We don’t make money on the fleet that is currently flying at peak utilization

They probably couldn’t do much, they rely on folks that want to go the cheap route. It could be that the US market is just bad for the ULCC model. In Europe and Asia, ULCCs are like regionals where the pilots make like 3k a month. I think they rebrand and start full service or just get smaller and focus on profitable routes.
