Anyone have an idea when Spirit will resume hiring?

I wish you the best of luck. It’s clear you’ve put a lot of research into this company.

After they stop furloughs/downgrades, and everyone has been recalled…

i know whats going on. I'm confident Spirit will pull through, bring their people back, and resume hiring.

Doubt you see "new hires" until 2028 or later. My opinion

I think by April you’ll never meet another Spirit new hire. You (if we’re extremely lucky) might meet a Frontiers (see what I did there😀) new hire.

If Spirit and Frontier resume merger talks, would they end up with a "Frontier Wings" or "Spirit Flight" call sign?

They’re going to rent out the call sign as another revenue stream. One month you’ll be State Farm Flight 1551, then you’ll be Bud Light 1551, then JG Wentworth 1551. Barry’s salivating already

It could be either. No Blue (no JetBlue) or all green (Frontier) hard to say.

319 fleet is gone. 23 aircraft sold and leaving the fleet. For months the number of NEO's parked has been say around 25 aircraft? Upwards of double the number of NEO's could possibly be parked over the summer. There are only 7 321NEO's left for delivery in 2025, then no more new deliveries.

I would say more furloughs are likely after winter season, long before any new hiring.

Watch the fleet plan and updates on the NEO situation.

That's going to be a difficult transition to make.

I feel like it could be like the situation last year unfortunatley. Announce the furlough early like April/May so they can use us in the summer and then the furloughs are active Sep. 1st

Assuming Spirit ever makes it to the point of recalls, how many actually come back?

My wild estimate would be less than half. Most will move on and probably give up their seniority numbers as a result. Also depends how long the furlough is for.

this seems a little beyond the "let go" / "furloughed" / "staffing reduction"

fired and escorted out? did something happen ?

Sounds like standard mass corporate cost cutting. You have armed personal there to keep someone from getting fired and going to their car to grab a weapon and head back in. New owners of the company, they want costs cut.

Sucks people lost their job but pilots can’t be the only ones taking the hits

What do you want anyone to say prior to the Bobs being done? You can’t tell people ahead of time or they go office space on your copier

Yeah, safety & liability. Also goons with guns discourages garden-variety bad behavior.

30 years ago it was a more civilized process, but times change.

I would love to see the B school study that says calling employees family makes them more engaged. It’s such a load of **** and every corporation uses it now.
