Davis inherited this mess, it wasn't his doing. There's plenty of blame to go around. Ted Christie's gross mismanagement, the Biden administration sticking its nose into an industry it didn't understand, a misguided octogenarian judge, shifting post-Covid consumer habits, the legacies cracking the ULCC code, and the final nail being an unnecessary war driving oil prices through the roof and wrecking any chance Spirit had to turn the corner.
To clarify my previous point, Trump starting the war was just the last hole in the cheese.

Today is a good day to withhold opinion as to why Spirit failed and what Spirit Pilots should or should not have done in recent years. You may be right, but you’re certainly wrong. Put on a better filter, have more sincere empathy, and actually feel for those affected. “Should have seen it coming,” or even “Been there” ain’t it today.

Literally hundreds of NK pilots have been hired at the legacy airlines in the last 3 months alone. It is almost always the junior guys that jump first, and end up senior to the ones that they were slinging gear for at the last shop. Unfortunately there is no crystal ball to know what is going to happen in the future, but NK's future has been pretty bleak for quite some time now.
