These are pulled off of APC, not actual contracts so it could be different. There's pluses and minuses to both places, I'm not debating that. I'm debating the fact that we are the lowest paid Airbus pilots.

I'll give you transition conflict but the rest is just meh. VX min is 70 for line holder and 75 for reserve. Hourly rates alone were higher even before the new payraise, so you'd have to rely on the soft time/transition to come out better --- and in likeliness could. With the new payraise there is a stark difference now, but I'm not sure who or why someone said NK was industry bottom for Airbus pay. It isn't. And besides that contract was gained in a strike in one of the worst economic conditions when every legacy/major airline was operating in BK type contracts/pay. IMO the NK contract was great for the time it was signed. Hoping you guys the best and good negotiations ahead now that it's 2015 and the tide has turned economically. :)

Agreed. That would be nice, and probably not that hard to implement.

All the best to you limp-wristed left-coasters over at VA with your ALPA drive, too! Your non-union substandard pay rates held the rest of the industry back for years. 'Bout time you put your pants on and joined the rest of us.

Hey, there's probably even a thread about it for you to post on- so you can stop trolling the NKS threads.

^^^ This! ^^^

There are zero, nada, zip, zilch reasons why we shouldn't be bidding for training! The whole 'request' thing is completely a bunch of BS. Glad some have been granted their 'requests' in the past...but it is only granted when the request works for the training schedule. I've been denied my request when those junior have been awarded my requested schedule. That's not ok...no way, no how. The training slots are know in advance. Training should be awarded in seniority order, same as everything else we operate by.

Requesting training dates is nothing more than a joke. Another fix required.

It needs to be on work days too not days off

Read the last few pages and didn't really see much recent QOL info, wondering if someone can fill in the gaps?

Hiring still ongoing?

Expected time on Reserve?

Bases being hired into?

And (since it's me asking the question) can "off" time be blocked across two months into a 15-20 day block?

Thanks in advance.

Name one other airline who has a captain in the left seat of an Airbus making less than $126/hr. If you took every Airbus 320 captain in the country and lined up the W-2's in order of highest to lowest, I'm sure we would see that there are a lot of Spirit captains at the bottom of that list.

1. Yes for the indefinite future, I believe 22/month with rumors of more
2. As a new hire FO, Detroit junior relief line hired 12/1/14, lineholder 10/20/14. Other bases may be sooner off reserve, but reserve does go senior sometimes. We have 3 lines (regular lines, relief (buildup), and reserve)
3. Generally ACY, FLL, ORD, DTW are going junior, but you can get any base within a month or 2
4. We have line bidding (no PBS). So you can bid how you want but some folks take advantage of conflict bidding. The max stretch of days in a row from last month to next is 6. So if you bid flying at the end of one month and more flying starting the next which results is more the 6 days in a row, you will pay protected and they will drop some days or trips. If vacation touches a trip it is dropped entirely. So for some if you use the transition conflict and vacation wisely you can get a lot more days off.

Thanks for the update, but I have to admit I'm a little lost between maximum days off in a row being six, except when "something" happens.

What exactly is "something" (I don't understand the whole trip dropping/undropping strategies as I've never bid for a schedule)? Can a junior person do this or does it go senior?

Thanks again.

Max 6 days on, not off.
