Not a ****ing contest Shy, but just a quick cursory glance says minimum at Virgin is 70 hours, minimum at Spirit is 72. Deadhead pay is paid at 50% at Virgin and there is the transition conflict.
These are pulled off of APC, not actual contracts so it could be different. There's pluses and minuses to both places, I'm not debating that. I'm debating the fact that we are the lowest paid Airbus pilots. |

I do that, and haven't been so lucky. I know this is the exception and not the rule. It would be a nice change to see a simple software update in FLiCA to allow a bidding system for training, versus sending off an email and hoping it works.

Hoping you guys the best and good negotiations ahead now that it's 2015 and the tide has turned economically. :)
Hey, there's probably even a thread about it for you to post on- so you can stop trolling the NKS threads. |

There are zero, nada, zip, zilch reasons why we shouldn't be bidding for training! The whole 'request' thing is completely a bunch of BS. Glad some have been granted their 'requests' in the past...but it is only granted when the request works for the training schedule. I've been denied my request when those junior have been awarded my requested schedule. That's not ok...no way, no how. The training slots are know in advance. Training should be awarded in seniority order, same as everything else we operate by. Requesting training dates is nothing more than a joke. Another fix required. |
It needs to be on work days too not days off

Read the last few pages and didn't really see much recent QOL info, wondering if someone can fill in the gaps?
Hiring still ongoing? Expected time on Reserve? Bases being hired into? And (since it's me asking the question) can "off" time be blocked across two months into a 15-20 day block? Thanks in advance. |

I'm not sure who or why someone said NK was industry bottom for Airbus pay.

Thanks in advance. 2. As a new hire FO, Detroit junior relief line hired 12/1/14, lineholder 10/20/14. Other bases may be sooner off reserve, but reserve does go senior sometimes. We have 3 lines (regular lines, relief (buildup), and reserve) 3. Generally ACY, FLL, ORD, DTW are going junior, but you can get any base within a month or 2 4. We have line bidding (no PBS). So you can bid how you want but some folks take advantage of conflict bidding. The max stretch of days in a row from last month to next is 6. So if you bid flying at the end of one month and more flying starting the next which results is more the 6 days in a row, you will pay protected and they will drop some days or trips. If vacation touches a trip it is dropped entirely. So for some if you use the transition conflict and vacation wisely you can get a lot more days off. |
Thanks for the update, but I have to admit I'm a little lost between maximum days off in a row being six, except when "something" happens.
What exactly is "something" (I don't understand the whole trip dropping/undropping strategies as I've never bid for a schedule)? Can a junior person do this or does it go senior? Thanks again. |
