Quote: Not as short as we think. Apparently the company wants PBS pretty bad and getting that in is gonna require months of back and forth as the whole scheduling section is going need to be changed and the addition of pairing language for the software.
Why copy paste from another airline.

charters booked later than cutoff date would go into open time.

Quote: Rumor is negotiations will be short, hopefully we see significant gains rather than just a quick sign to meager increases. Many of our peers have contracts that are expired or able to start negotiating soon. Don't want to see us the bottom again in just a few years.

What is training like at Sun Country? Do they provide a hotel during training or am I expected to have a place to live in MSP from day 1?

they provide a hotel, must live either 25 or 50 miles outside of msp, can’t remember which distance.

People are getting restless. Pilots with over 20 years service are leaving for better opportunities. I think some people in management are telling the upper management this contract needs to be done. Way too many contracts are opening or will soon be open. The company has big growth plans. We are currently running into problems with pilots having enough experience to upgrade to CPT. I fly everyday with FO's who have their applications at one or more major airlines. With the company's plans to expand, the lack of experience in the pilot base, and the pilots with applications elsewhere..... I suspect the company would like to settle the contract as soon as possible. It's the perfect storm....my 2 cents.

For anyone considering it, don't make carreer decisions based on speculation. Especially when every other airline is scrambling to ramp up their operation, and they all have better contracts (meaning quality of life, retirement, scheduling, vacation, training, insurances, etc. - it's not just about pay) - in other words they all appreciate their pilots much, much more than just providing lip service. SY will get a new contract just in time for others to get theirs and they'll continue to be at the bottom of the heap. Good luck guys/gals.

Reviving this thread. Is there a training contract like a lot of the 135 operators have for paying for your type rating? TIA
