Hello,
Currently 737-800 at flydubai. Almost 1500 hours on type.
I attended the Nov job fair in Orlando. Sun Country was there. They seemed very cool and charming. I might be interested in making my way back to the States soon and have given a great deal of consideration to pursuing Sun Country.
Currently, the APC page says it was last updated in 2014. Is it accurate?

I am curious to know how many nights would be spent away from home/month in the first two years or so. I am hoping to have as much time at home as possible and wondering how well of a fit Sun Country would be with this in mind. As I moved up in seniority would it be possible to bid all day turns? As a captain? Thanks for the help guys!
Out of interest, what would the upgrade time look like if the expected expansion doesn't take place?
How does vacation time accrue? Amount per year?
My third edit here... How much are guys with families paying for medical insurance a month?

Upgrades are runing 3-4 years. With that being said you will be on reserve or hold a junior 12 day off line for many years to come....
IF you were hired in the February of 2016 class... We have classes scheduled for 10-12 pilots a month for the remainder of the year, you would be off reserve in a few months. It all depends on timing!
In general you will spend more time at home on reserve than holding a junior line with 12-13 days off a month.
I think insurance for a family is a little over 100 bucks a check with a 4k out of pocket deductible with the bronze plan. All in All the insurance isn't bad. There are a few more plans I'm just not as familiar with them.

The big hiring started in 2011. With the hiring since then all FO's hired can basically hold day turns within 2 years.

Basically, for your first 5-6 years you'll hold vacations in May and September. Very little vacations in late winter and over Christmas.
