early contract talks and amazon birds...i'll believe it when I see it. That's all management needs is guys getting excited over nothing, stepping on each other for what might come, and then we will be the ones holding our ducks in our hand wondering when the raise will come, because they got enough guys in the door with only rumors. until there is actually reason to go to sunny, I would stay away.

I’m sure there are a few newer hired FOs on APC with more updated info/experiences.
Good Luck

In winter you’ll do a lot of day trips as a back up in case weather delays require a fresh crew. This means no per diem, which is your only real source of extra pay while on reserve.
If you don’t live in MSP, multi-day trips are pretty much the best you can hope for so you can earn per diem and you’re not stuck in your crash pad for up to 26 nights out of the month.
26 nights!? How is that possible? Well, you have one 4 day block of days off. Usually the rest of your days off will come in blocks of 2. Depending on where you live and how late you get done on your last day of reserve out of a block of reserve days, it might not be worth going home for your two off.
Click back a few pages on this thread to read about reserve here. As it’s been said before on this thread, commuting to SY is a bad deal. Hopefully this will be addressed in contract negotiations but until it is, know what you’re signing up for before you take a class date.

We will be inducting 10 of Amazon’s Prime Air aircraft into our fleet that will be branded with their livery, and we will build their flights into our schedule. It will focus on point-to-point flying and will be an evolving schedule – not set hub-to-hub operations.
This is also going to grow our staff. We’ll hire 20% more pilots, and will grow our maintenance and operations support staff. Delivery of the first aircraft will be in the first quarter of 2020, and we’ll begin operating the flights in the second quarter
